Good afternoon. Today, I am going to talk about fast food. Fast food is a rapidly growing industry in the world as well as in Malaysia. The busier lifestyle of the people who working long hours and the students who are busy to cope with the demands of active social life normally has less time than ever for preparing home-cooked food. All too often, they just grab a takeaway or ready-made meal especially fast food for their daily requirement. However, fast foods ease and convenience has blinded the Malaysian society from seeing the harmful effects that it can cause. I strongly believe that people should stop eating fast food. Some fast food restaurants will buy low quality ingredients to cut off their costs. They may use unqualified raw materials in the production of fast food which contain unhealthier substances or even ungraded contents that can threaten human health. According to Benson (2013), the researchers in the Laurel School said that there were only 2% of actual meat content in the fast food hamburger patties. Besides, some unexpected harmful bacteria and ammonia were found and this kind of ingredients may lead to internal and external illness and even death. In addition, it is not surprising that a lot of kitchen employees in fast food restaurants follow ‘the 10-second rule’. The workers who drop the food on the floor can simply pick it up and put it back on the tray, as long as no one notices and it is done within ten seconds time frame. They do this because they want to conserve every piece of food they have to meet the peak-hour demand. To sum up, I strongly suggest my audience to stop eating fast food because it is not good for human health, it will cause mental illness and it is an unhygienic product. Stop throwing your hard-earned money to these fast food industries for them to create obesity to be even worse in Malaysia. Of course, I fully understand that fast food tastes better than regular food all the times. However, we do not know that every bite we take, we are risking our life. Thank
