The game was between the Bears and Tigers. The Tigers were down by one in the ninth inning, with the bases loaded. The team 's season was hanging in the hands of the batter Henry Rhodes. A thirteen year old boy who moved to Illinois from Maryland, when he was five. The boy was struggling at the time with a 127. batting average. The tying run was at third and the winning run was at second, and Henry knew it. The pressure was building up for him as he stepped into the batter 's box.. The intimidation factor that the pitcher gave Henry, made him feel like he would lose. Henry’s veins were pumping blood to his fast beating heart. The mean looking pitcher knew what pitch he was gonna throw. The pitcher threw another fastball for another strike. One more strike and he’s out. The next pitch was a curveball in the dirt for a ball, “ good eye” said the coach of the Tigers. After the pitcher threw the next two pitches just outside the strike zone. The count was now three-two and the pitcher knew he had to throw a strike or the games tied, but the pitcher also knew if he strikes out Henry their team would win. The pitch thrown was a fastball again and Henry swung and hit a high fly ball, “ it could go!” said the announcer. The outfielder went at the wall, but knew he had no shot of getting the ball, It was a homerun. The next day Henry was at the sale barn asking his friends if he should still go through with this. The other kids circled around henry and Barry, the first punch was thrown by Barry, but it was a miss, then Henry threw one punch and went to the ground. one of Barry’s friends yelled “ I think he’s not conscious.” This man came out and yelled “ I’m gonna get you kids!” Henry ran like a hare being chased by a predator. Henry had to jump this fence and ripped a piece of his jeans where his butt was. He knew he would have to sew and dye a new piece of cloth to the jeans when he got home, but he knew had to keep running. Henry and his friends met up, somewhere deep into the wood where not even the sun 's rays was showing, they could see nothing, they were lost. One of Henry friends were worried saying “ we’re in so much trouble, when my dad hears about this i 'm gonna be dead meat.” Henry said “ It’s not that bad guys we just have to get outta here,” Henry’s friends said back “ not that bad, our parents are gonna break me!” Next they heard someone say hi, it was Barry. Henry said “ what do you want?” He said “ don’t worry I come in peace,” One of Henry’s friends said “ are you high?, why would you trust him,” Henry knew he had to trust him, he said “ there 's no way he could lie right now, I will accept his apology. ” Barry said “ I actually idol you Henry.” Barry was glad Henry could trust him and so was Henry because Barry had found this truck in the woods, that actually
