Seeing a large spider in the room, going up to a high area, or maybe the sight of clowns can cause someone to feel this deep sensation of the need to get out of there. What would that deep sensation inside of them be called? It is fear. Everyone has their own definition and own version of what they would call fears. Fear is a type of emotion that is unpleasant and often felt when the person feels they may be in danger or is worried that something they do not wish to happen would be done.
The term fear has been around since before the twelfth century and has come from the Middle English word feren and also from the Old English word færan. Merriam-Webster’s dictionary has three definitions for the word fear, all are similar, and they are: 1.

The fear that they then get from that event either sticks with them or they beat it and overcome their fears. An example of someone overcoming a fear of theirs would be when kids are little they are usually afraid of the dark; however, by the time they become teenagers and grow up they often are no longer have a problem sleeping in the dark. There is no right or wrong way to get rid of fears and there is not always an easy way. One technique to consider using when trying to get rid of having fear is the AWARE technique. (A)ccept the anxiety, (W)atch the anxiety, (A)ct normally and just keep acting as if you are ok, (R)epeat previous steps if needed, (E)xpect the best outcome possible. (Tyrrell) Fear which could also be known as terror, fright, horror, or panic all are things that everyone goes through at least once in their lifetime. The items or events people are scared of vary; the most common ones are: fear of flying, fear of public speaking, fear of heights, and more that are well known. (Nash) According to Merriam-Webster the definition of fear is to be afraid of something or someone that is unpleasant to that person. Having fears are not easy to overcome but there are many different ways to try to get rid of them. Fears are not permanent unless the person lets them
