There is a conflict or disagreement among researcher about what actually TQM means (Heady and Smith, 1995; Lau and Anderson, 1998). Feigenbaum was the first person to use the term in 1961 and the term was total quality control (TQC). Quality ideas have been studied without using the adjective ‘total’ for more than forty years by scholars like Deming, Juran and Crosby. In 1988, the European Foundation of Quality Management, added to the importance and value of TQM and stressed to ‘reach total customer satisfaction’. The definition of TQM is the “Total Quality Control’s organization wide effect". These eight components are: part of administration, initiative and strategy, part of value division, preparing, item or administration outline, supplier quality management, process administration, quality information and reporting and representatives relations.
Problem Statement
The problem statement is quite clear in this study as we are trying to find out the relationship of TQM and service industry. Is there any relation between two of them and if yes then what is its significance?
Research Objectives
The objectives of this paper if to examine and elaborate the impact of TQM on service industry and how it can be exploited in order to gain maximum organization performance.

Purpose of the Survey
The motivation behind the study was to research the impact of TQM on service industry, its critical success factors, the reasons behind the success and failure of TQM practices. ii. Nature of Survey
The nature of the survey was structured as already specified and defined questionnaires were asked to be answered. iii. Instrument for Data Collecting
First of all the demographic items have been mentioned on the questionnaire but respondents did not have to disclose their identity. After that a definition of TQM as “a business strategy encompassing the entire organization to provide goods/services that completely satisfy the customer” is elaborated and after that 29 Likert-scaled statements covering the areas mentioned above with 1 = strongly agree, 2 = agree, 3 = neutral, 4 = disagree, and 5 = strongly disagree. iv. Unit of Analysis
The research was conducted in full-service and fast food restaurants, caterers, hotels and motels, hair and beauty salons, health and fitness centers, nursing homes, health care providers, churches, educational institutions, and entertainment stores.
v. Sample Size
The sample size of 285 was used for the research survey. vi. Sampling
