Smith would fit the best was that he is either a lust serial killer, thrill serial killer or power control killer. But, I came soon to realize that he wouldn 't fit the typology of being a lust serial killer since they are often overkilling their victims, which Mr. Smith didn 't do. This information left me with two typologies left. Both the thrill and power control serial killer tortures their victims, moves the bodies, have specific victims and uses strangulation, just as Mr. Smith. But, I believe that Mr. Smith would fall into the typology of a thrill serial killer.
The same goes for tv shows. Indian- Americans are rarely represented in the media: Mink Kailing, Aziz Ansari, and Priyanka Chopra are the few actors that have been represented in the media. People of color are not properly represented in the media and stereotypical roles dictate how the world views them. It has been this way for years and the media is a huge step in changing the way people of color are view. The American people believe a lot of what they see and if people of color were represented equally, not by harmful stereotypes, it could be the beginning of a change in the lives of
I think there is a diverse group represented when it comes to the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender community. The LGBT community is widely represented in movies and TV shows since the last decade. For instance, in Mean Girls (2004), Grey’s Anatomy (2005) and Prison Break (2005) there were minority groups represented, despite being released over a decade ago. In addition, as the industry progresses, there are more minority groups being represented. On the other hand, there are many minority groups, such as South Asians and Asians that are less represented in these shows, in comparison to Caucasians and Blacks even.
While each individual serial killer may have an established penchant for a certain method of killing, male and females preferred choice of weapons ordinarily fall into two separate categories. Men habitually strangle, shoot, or stab their victims but, contrastively, women have a tendency to wield quieter methods of elimination such as drugs or smothering. According to recent studies, the women 's primary weapon of choice is poison (Anthes). I believe that this provides us with further reasons that white male serial killers are predominantly known. As previously explained, the media principally covers white serial killers because they tend to kill second to first class white females, who take priority above any other victim.
Solnit uses the heart-wrenching example of how “Corporal Maria Lauterbach was apparently killed by her higher-ranking colleague after she was going to testify that he had raped her” (6). This woman was sexually intimidated by her higher ranking officer and was eventually murdered to cover up what he had done. Solnit uses the horrific example of rape to emotionally grab the reader's attention, bringing them deeper into her essay. This is one of the most effective examples that Solnit uses in her essay to prove women deserve the right to be treated as human beings and that these serious problems need to be
Randle is quite intimidating, so the young lady may have felt pressured and persuaded into the sex act. While he was in the ward during the movie he depicted some other characteristics of being mentally ill such as manipulativeness, callousness, hostility, irresponsibility, impulsivity, risk taking, impairments in empathy, and poor self-direction. Along with his statutory rape he has five assault
Some killers kill for fame while others crave the satisfaction of the kill. There are four categories of motives that serial killers fall into and they are: visionary, mission-oriented, self-gratifying and power/control. Visionary killers often fall out of reality and suffer from psychotic breaks. They often believe they are someone else or they are compelled by the Devil or God to commit the crimes, in order to better serve their master. An example of a visionary killer is David Berkowitz, known as Son of Sam.
(47) This is referring to all the dead babies and how she feels it is someone else’s fault. She accuses Goody Osburn because she is an easy target to blame for her failure as a mother. The Putnams' and the girls all try to use witchcraft as a way to unleash their anger and bitterness upon people so that they feel above
The jealousy and greed Abigail has for John Proctor is what inspires her hate for his wife, Elizabeth, and what causes the death of many of the women in Salem due to the accusations of witchcraft. The fear the young girls have of being punished for simple things, such as dancing and small lies, to begin with, is what ulitmately creates a bigger mess and allows them to be manipulated by Abigail. Abigail’s own fear is what causes her to continue creating lies to save her own life. These human emotions were easily avoidable, but the intense devotion to God is what instilled the fear of sinning in the townspeople’s minds, which led to the death of many innocent
