In an organization, a group of people work together for a particular purpose. These individuals forming an organization have different thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and ideologies which contribute to their overall character as a person. Individuals’ principles and attitudes towards things are influenced by several factors like the kind of environment they are in, the previous experiences they had and the culture they grew up with. Shared values and social norms also influence the manner individuals interact and work in an organization. Filipinos are very friendly and welcoming to guests (Abrugar, 2014). They warmly welcome their visitors and give the best of what they have to their guests. In the workplace, employees welcome visitors with a contagious smile and attend to the guests’ needs kindly. For businesses who offer services, this is a very good trait of Filipinos. They give customers the superior form of service possible, the finest places, things and facilities so that customers will be satisfied and enjoy the services these businesses offer. This good trait of Filipinos not only transcends to customers but to their fellow employees as well. They often smile, greet and acknowledge each other. This is a great way to promote a good and harmonious relationship between employees in a workplace. This is frequently observed not just by younger people, but also by people of all ages (Hidalgo, 2015). Children respect elders by saying "Po" and "Opo. Children and young adults demonstrate respect as well by putting their elders ' hands on their foreheads. In the organization setting, Filipinos also exhibit respect at work by greeting their employers and other people a pleasant day. Respect is a vital thing that must be present in an organization. This facilitates efficient communication and execution of certain undertakings. Showing respect to other people results to the scenario wherein individuals acknowledge and value, not only their worth, but also other people’s position in the organization. Individuals observe proper channels and processes in which work must be accomplished.
Moreover, they also value their families so much which makes this as one of the good traits of Filipinos. The Filipino family is a firm basic unit of Philippine society, and everything revolves around it (Hisona, 2010). This is the main reason why Filipinos tend to keep their families together through the generations. This scenario even extends in the workplace. In an organization, employees tend to become close with each other. It sometimes reaches to the point wherein these people already regard their co workers as their own family
