PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND Education is the process of renewal of the meaning of experience. It involves the oversight and development of the minors and the group in which he/she lived (John Dewey). Education, according to experts and authors, is a preparatory stage for persons to face the many possible life activities. Danforth (2008) stated that the purpose of education is to provide social conditions that support persons in having a range of experiences necessary to develop whatever capacities, interests, and desires each individual might have. Hence, every student in a school is being provided with the necessary and useful knowledge and experiences as a preparation for many possible life activities. Across the history of Philippine education, it has always been observed how Filipinos strived to be educated (Ballos, celeste et al., 2015). For the Filipinos, education has a very important role in attaining successful life. In education, every parent expects that their children will learn much new knowledge and that they could apply it to their future lives. For the past years of the educational system of the Philippines, it embraced the BEC (Basic Education Curriculum). It consists of a 1-year pre-elementary education (non-mandatory), 6-year primary education, and 4-year secondary education. But when the Aquino administration ruled the nation, started last 2010, the educational system was changed, from BEC to K-12 years of primary and secondary education (K-12
