Foreign psychological tests were widely used here in the Philippines from different settings for the same purposes. Most of the intelligence test, aptitude test, achievement test, personality test, neuropsychological tests and even happiness or well-being scales that are used in academic, industrial, and clinical settings were standardized and validated from different foreign countries. His paper addressed the different issues related to the usage of English-language psychological tests developed in foreign countries with Filipino test takers. He rallies the local psychologists to ensure the validity and integrity of psychological testing in the country. Enriquez (1992) as cited by Bernardo supported his idea and advocated for the development of indigenous psychological tests of personality and intelligence among others, have been developed. It will be an emblem that Filipinos are capable of growing their experience, knowledge and skills not only in test construction but assessment as a whole. It is an input to the idea of moving out from the stagnation and routine of the utilization of foreign psychological tests. Following the same vein, it is also a challenge and an encouragement for professionals in the same field to develop new psychological tests. Since the scale in itself will yield several data or information that can be used in counseling, the test will aid the guidance counselor in the identification of the sources or determinants of the examiner’s happiness, the extent or level of happiness, and possible personal and social concerns or issues of the client. With these data, the guidance counselor can further determine the problem of the client and the action plan or recommendation will be more specific and responsive.
