Notting Hill

William Thacker (Hugh Grant) is divorced and owns a bookshop in Notting Hill, a district in London. He lives in an apartment with his friend Spike (Rhys Ifans).

On a day when William is at work, a woman (Julia Roberts) visits the shop. It is the world famous actress Anna Scott. Thacker is just sending a shoplifter out of his shop and realizes a fraction later who he just had in his shop.

He picks up some drinks and later literally bumps into Anna Scott. He spills orange juice on her clothes and offers to clean it. Anna Scott goes with William to his home. After they cleaned Anna she goes back again to her hotel.

One day she arrives at her support group August Water, which also has had cancer. It clicks right away and they become friends. They do a lot of things together and exchange their favourite books with each other. Slowly they begin to feel more and more for each other.

Hazel has always wanted to know how her favourite book ends. That is why August arranged a trip for her to Amsterdam, where the author of the book lives. They meet the author but it turns out to be an old alcoholic man and he also behaves very weird.

Unfortunately, he gives no answer to the important questions of Hazel. When they visit the Anne Frank House, Hazel and August have their first real kiss.

In Amsterdam, August told Hazel that he has gotten cancer again and not long to live. Not much later he dies unfortunately.

I find The Fault in our Star one of the most beautiful movies I've ever seen. When I first heard about this book everyone was very excited. When I heard there is a movie about it, I was curious and wanted to watch it.

The story is filmed good. It is nice that the movie a little bit filmed is in Amsterdam. There is a scene where they both sit on a bench and the bench in now a famous bench in Amsterdam. Many tourists go to see that
