Today, abortion still one of the most controversial topics in our communities, some with the Idea that it's wrong (pro-life) and others that is totally okay that women should have control over their body (pro-choice). Even though, it became legal in 1973, there are a big amount of people opposing abortion as a moral wrong. In this paper I would like to talk about three different theories on abortion. First, the structural functionalist, second the conflict perspective theory and third the symbolic Interaction theory.
The story of Henrietta Lacks involves an extreme violation of privacy. The book describes and discusses issues related to access of personal information from medical records, use of tissue samples, informed consent, and privacy invasion. These are issues that have raised debate, and are of concerns to me as a social worker. Other significant issues in this book relate to a lack of respect for Henrietta Lacks and her family, as well as justice, race, and social class. Being a social worker and reading this book made me so upset.
Drug addiction is a consuming mental illness and it makes you lose sight of who and what is truly important in life, just as these two mothers did. Both these pieces of text are great examples of the theme Hopkins tried to convey through the book, the horrors that drug use can bring, how quickly your life can spiral out of control, and how even though you know in your mind that all of this hardship is brought on by these drugs you’ve gotten to a point where quitting seems impossible. The mother in Ohio, and Kristina are both representations of how drugs can incorrectly prioritize your whole

We all have to make difficult choices in our lives. Difficult choices you know are coming, and we all contemplate the consequences of each choice even when deep down we know the answer. In long-term relationships, it is hard for a couple to separate, even when the male in the relationship is being abusive towards his partner being the female because the female is simply scared of the consequences, also, in the journal ‘Female domestic violence victims ' experiences of hospital care’ it states that “Several women chose not to disclose the domestic violence because their partner was present whilst being questioned by the health care professional” Gasser, H. I. (2008). Female domestic violence victims ' experiences of hospital care--a literature review. P295. , In my opinion, I don’t think any partner should be in the same room as the abused individual because there could be a lot of missing information if the suspect is present during the questioning about the assault. While the victim being, the female is being questioned about the assault she could possibly be scared mentally while the health care professional is asking her questions because the person who abused her is watching her at the same time, I believe that when the abused individual is in the room as the health care professional and the abuser is not, the victim of the domestic violence can tell the truth about what really happened and justice could be served, there were a lot of cases where the spouse simply didn’t say anything because they were scared of the consequences because for one if the abuser finds out most likely they will abuse the victim even
This topic has been debated for decades, and it is still strongly discussed. Many woman have tried to abort their unborn baby because they think is not the right time to have them. Sometimes, they are just too young to have babies and physically not ready.
