I choose sustainability in the lodging industry because with this being relevant in most of my major classes this semester. I wanted to do more research and become more knowledgeable on why sustainability is so important and the impact it has on this generation and generations to come. The three pillars of sustainability environmental, physical and social aspect all affect one another, especially in terms of tourism and hospitality. The industry is only growing and if continues to expand while hurting the environment and using up resources that are scarce in one or more state or countries is questionable. These three articles are all relatable to the making hotels more green with research and steps taken before making short or long-term …show more content…
The amounts of benefits companies are finding through the “implementation of sustainable polices and practices by staff and guest” (Eds.a.ebscohost.com.proxyiub.uits.iu.edu, 2015) this is the mian focus on who has the resources to make hotels more green but this is also who is benefiting by ensuring that the standards of management and quality of hotel is up to par. The problem with improving quest expectations while performing well executed practices is finding that people are even less sustainable when in hotels then they are their homes because of the idea that there are unlimited resources. When you look at the ownership of hotel companies, there are so many middle guys that are helping financially and building financial models to see what more there is to “consider that just the first cost of the installing systems and the energy consumed.” (Eds.a.ebscohost.com.proxyiub.uits.iu.edu, 2015) The purpose to making the most out of the energy already accessible unlike other countries would only benefit by using the tools that drives efficient cuts on cost design, that is externally affecting the physical environment but will internally increase profitability and quality by using a maintenance model and energy driven …show more content…
Which it is, to control how one becomes green they study shows that hotels really control where guests stay and the quality and resources they gave access to. Hotels are to cater to the wants and needs of guests around the world but to what extent? There are incentives financially, physically and environmentally why steps towards cutting out certain everyday tasks to preserve hotel designs. “Green furnishing and finishes choices have increased dramatically over the past two years” (Eds.a.ebscohost.com,. (2015) The purpose of this study is “how to find a greener venue and how green it really is?” The research used guides that are designed to help agencies and organizations follow sustainable actions such as EU ECO-LABEL with the European Union and ECOTEL and LEED in the United States. (2015) These are installed to grow and expand internationally, so that hotels around the world are up to date with how to be sustainable. To start off “a green approach needs to be intrinsic, meaning it trickles down from the developer, management and down to the staff hotel” factors that need to be conserved is energy and water consumption, indoor air quality and sustainable building materials for hotel operations interior and exterior design. The architecture and every aspect that id developed within the tourism and hospitality industry is in
In business, the problem of obtaining too many products will occur. Knowing when to discontinue one of those products is the key to saving money. There will come a time in a products life when its sales will decrease for whatever reason. CEOs and managers should the ones held responsible for discontinuing an individual product. For example, in the grocery industry, wholesalers are always stopping items.
Moving forward, now we will discuss two elements of IaaS and they are the benefits and the limitations. Commencing with the benefits, there are 5 benefitical factors we will highlight which includes Scailability, Reduction in down time, Minimal maintenance of hardware, Cost savings and enhanced Security & Disaster Recovery. Beginning with Scalability, this is considered as a top and most popular benefit that IaaS has to offer. It kicks the traditional infrastructure out the window and you have the ability to scale up your system and it is on demand. This is done efficiently, quickly and in addition to this, it does minimise downtime in which we will cover more as we move forward in this discussion.
The average U.S. household, according to the online website Statista, with the data on the site titled as “Consumers' weekly grocery shopping trips in the United States from 2006 to 2015,” will take a grocery shopping trip once a week to restock on food and household items. Numerous U.S. shoppers will not question how the food products arrive at a certain location or what goes into the food product. And so the question still remains, will the average shopper know what goes on behind the scenes of the food production and transportation process? The twenty first century is full of modern innovation and pieces that will complete puzzles. Technology is the modern, practical application that is constantly evolving in the twenty first century to create a positive impact on the process of food distribution

The topics that are big right now in the field of information technology are social media platforms and data privacy. These are two topics that I would like to explore further in the field and get a much better grasp of what they mean in the future and how they will impact us. Social media is a major focal point because it represents a pivot from the past and is a turning point on how businesses will market and attract customers in the future. It is a stepping-stone, as the last step was customers going to the website. Before the website it was television adds the customers were gravitating towards.

The purpose of this paper is to provide analysis and answers to important questions regarding market structure that will help the mayor understand the structures of many of the businesses. For this, first of all, the types of market structure are discussed with their exclusive characteristics. In the next phase, how high entry barriers can impact the long-run profitability of the firms and the competitive pressures is deliberated. Later, the price elasticity of demand in each market structure and its effect on pricing is scrutinized. Subsequently, in the end, what effects government’s role can play in market structure’s ability to price the product and international trade’s influence on each market structure is thought about.
The purpose of this was twofold: if these programs negatively impacted unit cohesion or resulted in the loss of government property - to include Marines’ lives - they could deflect responsibility back onto the politicians who insisted on expanding women’s roles in the Marine Corps. However, if these social experiments succeeded, the Marine Corps would acknowledge that the majority of its forces were in fact capable of participating in combat, thus gaining the ability to reassign any Marine, regardless of gender or original specialty, to a combat position. While the programs were considered a mixed success, they again dredged up the barely concealed distaste and distrust that many male Marines, especially infantry Marines, possessed for female Marines. Men, long seen as the protectors of society, have not taken the intrusion of women into the Marine Corps well.
Introduction Within this essay I will endeavour to showcase my knowledge surrounding internet servers and the technologies associated with them. I will discuss both the hardware and software linked with servers as well as comparing and evaluating the different services and protocols related to server use. I will look to not only describe what I know in these areas but critically asses by showing how and where these technologies could be used as well as the potential pro’s and con’s to using them.
Ever feel exhausted in the middle of training or even too tired to get up and motivate yourself to go workout? Low energy could be due to not enough carbohydrates consumed or even too much, causing blood sugar to be decreased as a response by the endocrine system. To train for an extended duration of time, especially periods of high intensity, athletes would require adequate amounts of calories to meet the energy demands of exercise. Inadequate energy intake can lead to loss of muscle mass and bone density (Kleiner 2013). Athletes need to consume an appropriate amount of calories to maintain body weight and maximize hypertrophy of muscles and fat loss.
In my studies of humanitys, I will look at the the social, religious and major historical events surrounding two art periods. Focusing on how these factors affected the content and style used by artist of the respective periods. I will be using paintings from the first period, ranging from around 1520 AD to 1590 AD referred to as the Mannerism period , the second period referred to as the Baroque period begins around 1590 AD and last until approximately 1700 AD. The Mannerist period according to, Encyclopedia Britannica, spans “ from the end of the High Renaissance in the 1520s to the beginnings of the Baroque style around 1590” (“Mannerism”, 2014).
To say the internet has changed a lot of things would be the understatement of the century: the invention of the internet has made an enormous impact on how people see and interact with the world. It has allowed for huge leaps in technology in a short block of time, helping people to invent new technologies as well as improve old ones. One of the older technologies that the internet has helped improve is television. TVs with internet access are becoming the norm giving people the ability to view websites and download apps for use on the big screen. Online streaming sites like Netflix and Hulu are making cable television less relevant allowing viewers more convenient access to their favorite programs.
In 2011, the term social media was officially added to the Merriam- Webster dictionary. The dictionary indicates that the word’s first use dates back to 2004 and provides the following definition “forms of electronic communication (as Web sites for social networking and microblogging) through which users create online communities to share information, ideas, personal messages, and other content (as videos)” (Merriam Webster).
