Let's just think about this for a second common sense if you have a positive mindset towards something you should just assume that you would achieve your goal. She talks about how fixed mindsets are all about who you are. For example, the characteristics traits such as the personality, how smart you are, and how creative the person is. Those who have fixed mindsets, sees criticism as an attack and they will try to avoid it. A “growth mindset,” on the other hand, challenges and sees failure as something that motivates them and tells them to keep working.

In order to help my clients to stick to their program is to continue to motivate and praise the for their hard work. I need to help my clients focus on having a positive attitudes. Improving the client 's mental toughness is to teach them to be motivated by success rather than focus on avoiding or fearing failure. Those who are motivated by success will have strong resilience. Upward Bound is an amazing program. I have learned so many amazing things from my very first day to now. This program has many helpful things, for example, the Bridge Program. At first I was not sure if I wanted to be in the bridge program, because UAFS was not the university I was planning on going. All that changed though.
When faced with a setback, they are very calm and collected about it. If someone with a growth mindset is having a bad day they will find ways to make the day better. They won’t act like it’s the end of the world, rather they will find the good in the situation. How can a growth mindset can become a setback if not approached correctly?
