Abstract Flaxseed or linseed (Linum usitatissimum L.) comes from the flax plant, an annual herb. It is emerging as an important functional food ingredient thanks to the content of active compounds, pointed to provide health benefits. Scientific evidences support consumption of flaxseed for the high content in omega-3, omega-6 rich oil, α-linolenic acid, lignans, high quality proteins and fibers, compounds which are biologically active in the prevention of some chronic diseases such as many types of cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and cerebrovascular stroke. Flaxseed, of Mesopotamia origin, has been cultivated since 5000 BC, being used until the 1990s principally for the fabrication of cloths and papers. Today it is cultivated in over 2.6 million ha and the important linseed growing countries are India, China, United States, Ethiopia. Canada with 614,000 metric tons of flaxseed produced in the year 2013-2014, is the world’s largest producer of flax and accounts for nearly 80% of the global trade in flaxseed.
The whole flaxseed is flat and oval with pointed tips and contains a seed coat or true hull (also called testa), a thin endosperm, two embryos and an embryo axis. Every part of the linseed plant is utilized commercially, either directly or after processing. To do so, one must be conscious of what their temple receives; this means people must watch what they eat. People must look at the ingredients contained in everyday foods, what those ingredients cause to happen in the body, and the effects the ingredients have on the body, like the ingredient high fructose corn syrup. The amounts of overconsumed and unhealthy contents of high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) need to be replaced by natural sugars.
Swidden agriculture also known as slash-and-burn is depicted in a negative light because of myths that has been created from people who are not familiar with its practice or do not understands its purpose. One of the narrative is that it creates a useless and unsustainable land. This could be easily misunderstood as the image of the land after being burned can be seen lifeless and barren. People tend to associate a fertile land with lush greens with the sun in the background and not the image of swidden agriculture. Furthermore, media portrayal of wildfire only puts the idea that wildfire are harmful and should be put out which only makes swidden agriculture seem destructive.
Wegmans grocery stores across the country were hold sweet celebrations this weekend. The family owned grocery chain is celebrating 100 years. Every store offered a free anniversary celebration cake for it 's employees and customers. The celebration at our Corning Wegmans was uniquely special, as the store will also celebrate 30 years this summer.
Evaluation on Tumbleweed When going to a restaurant a smiling face, knowledgeable staff members, a clean space, and flavorful food is expected. This is obviously something that Tumbleweed in Seymour, Indiana does not aspire to do. Tumbleweed in Seymour, Indiana was one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to. My friends and I all decided to go eat at Tumbleweed one day and it was very unclean, and took a long time until we got our food, also the people who worked there were not very kind.

In the article “Cotton and Slavery”, the main idea was about the South and North America’s Civil war due to the slavery of producing cotton. The North and South’s theory about slavery was different: The North thought it was inhumane of not giving payments to the slaves who deserves, but the South disagreed. Before the Civil war begun, the industry of cotton was the biggest boom. The people earned money by making cotton into clothes or other products.

Although Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) which can be found in Flax seed oil, a popular supplement among non-meat eaters, is able to be converted into DHA; the process is found to be a widely ineffective in the human body. The best source of Omega 3s are fatty fish, hence, most vegans and vegetarians will have a DHA deficiency.
