Fluoride is considered to be the gold standard active agent in anti-caries toothpastes (Zero, 2006). However, caries remains ubiquitous, and even in countries where caries incidence is relatively low, unacceptable levels persist. Further, recent reviews have concluded that the decline in caries may be at an end or even in reversal, with levels increasing in some areas.1
There is broad agreement that greater emphasis on preventive oral healthcare and on managing dental caries without further destruction of healthy tooth tissue is needed 2.
There are limitations to what application of fluoride alone can achieve in relation to lesion progression3 and severity of the plaque acid attack, with fluoride becoming ineffective below a pH of about 4.5 (ten Cate et al., 2004), hence the need and opportunity for additional approaches to controlling the disease.

This difference of demineralized and remineralized groups is highly significant with P value of 0.00.
In studies conducted by Narayana, Vinoth Kumar Deepa et al Remineralization capacity of calcium sodium phosphosilicate was assessed using high resolution Scanning electron microscopy. They both concluded that calcium sodium phosphosilicate containing tooth paste has the potential to remineralize initial enamel lesions and the latter observed that formation of a bioactive glass is very effective in remineralizing the enamel surface. This shows the similarity between the results of and Narayana, Vinoth Kumar Deepa present

Does the city of grand rapids add fluoride to their water source? Why am I writing this paper? Well because it is an assignment and it will show the pros and cons of adding fluoride to the water. Cities started putting fluoride in the water in the late 1940’s.
This essay was written by an individual who described himself as being a part of a racially and culturally mixed family. His family moved from a northern state to Kentucky where his parents vowed not to give their energies to anything that not was not interracial, interdenominational and offering life changes through Jesus. Relationships played a key part in his life. The families especially his mother’s relationship with an African-American woman Shirley Raglan who was dying of cancer. Shirley was the wife of a pastor James Raglan.
Fluoride, the government’s way of saying “we don’t want you to succeed”, has been poured into the water supply by the government for years and has still gone strong. The government thought it was a great way to protect our teeth, but instead it caused more pain which brought forth the fluoride conspiracy. The fluoride conspiracy can be proven because there has been extensive research on the subject, and the side effects of fluoride are easily visible and they include lower IQ, certain cancers, and the feeling of docility. The U.S is ranked low on the totem pole of countries in terms of education and some don’t know why. The reason for this lower standard is because of Americas own screw up.
Evidence based dental hygiene is the practice of giving your patients the best care possible with a combination of adequate techniques and patient values. When evaluating a patient, it is important to understand their values as well as what that they need clinically to improve their oral health. In today’s society, due to the internet and social media, people are presented with the latest fads in dental hygiene on a daily basis. When presented with a question in regard to this, we must research rather than just shut the idea down entirely. As a dental hygienist, it is our responsibility to research these fads and see if there is substance (scientific evidence, patient preferences, clinical/patient circumstances and clinicians experience and
Introduction Public water fluoridation was first practiced in 1945 (Water Fluoridation and Cancer Risk). Therefore adding fluoride to water has been in practice for many years. Over the years people have wondered if fluoride is safe or even necessary. There are those that are for the addition to fluoride while many oppose water fluoridation. There have been mixed emotions about this in Georgia along with other states as well.
Fluoride treatment should be provided to every patient (if wanted), and the amount and type should be adjusted to the patient’s needs to prevent caries, as well as sealants for patients with teeth that need them. Also, whitening trays should be available for patients who choose to bleach. It would bring great profit to the dental office because many patients want to have a perfect whiter and brighter smile. If the dental office offers various services, patients will be attracted to the
As we go through this paper i want to prove how
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, “Employment of dental hygienists is expected to grow 36 percent through 2018, which is much faster than the average for all occupations. This projected growth ranks dental hygienists among the fastest growing occupations, in response to increasing demand for dental care and more use of hygienists”. Summary Dental hygienists have a great outlook for the occupation for the years to come and with that being said; hopefully the percent of people with fluoridation will increase in all communities.
Over 2/3 of Americans have been helped by fluoride. Whether it was fluoridated water or high content in tooth paste. The mineral/drug was introduced in the 1950s when it was discovered to be naturally occurring in our bodies and helps strengthen our teeth to fight through tooth decay. Water fluoridation has helped people save time and money, with less dental expenses and visits. Tooth decay is still a major problem today in adolescence and has yet to be completely prevented.
The aim of the experiment was to test different types of soft drink on calcium carbonate marble chips, which were used in place of human teeth, and record what percentage of the marble chips dissolved when it was left in the soft drink overnight. These results will show which of the five soft drinks tested was the most harmful, and the ingredients will be examined to explain why the particular soft drink was the most detrimental to human teeth. Human teeth are covered in a hard substance called tooth enamel, which is made of hydroxyapatite. Enamel is the hardest tissue in the body and is vital in protecting teeth from decay (Callison, 2018). Enamel erosion occurs when acids wear away at the teeth and can result in painful temperature sensitivity, discolouration, cracks and chips, and indentations appearing on the teeth, and will result in cavities (Smith, 2013).
Advanced Dental Technology Maintains Oral Health People are struggling to maintain their oral health by not sufficiently and regularly brushing or flossing well enough. Now, if people do not care about or try to at least maintain their oral health then the dental industry could shut down. The reason being, that people do not care enough or do not have enough money to go to dental practices to get an oral checkup, results in having bad oral care. Not long after, people will have to deal with oral diseases and difficulties if they do not get accustomed to taking better care of the inside of their mouths and get the assistance that they need.
It's not really something I honestly cared about. All I knew is that some gum claims to clean and protect your teeth from cavities. I also see commercials that say 4 out of 5 dentist recommend this certain brand of gum I never thought that gum could pose as a threat, but my research proved me wrong. The research process was actually very hard.
Results show that an average of 22.5% CaCO3 is found in toothpaste. Methyl Orange is noted to not be a suitable indicator for this experiment as the pH
it should be emphasized that these were personal assessments and there were no qualified professionals to verify or indicate the ratings of oral health of the sample population. Therefore, this data is subject to being skewed and inaccurate and should be disregarded. A study conducted in India by Appukuttan et al. explored the prevalence of dental anxiety, the factors which influence dental anxiety and dental anxiety related to tooth extraction procedures among participants at a hospital. It was centered around 1148 patients with age ranges between 18-70 years.
