From the fifteenth century to the seventeenth centuries society experienced a shift from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. During this time Europe underwent many significant changes that were often expressed through the historical art. Passionate and experienced artists used their skills to create masterpieces that would highlighted these changes and led to the success of their careers. During this shift Medieval point of views began to fade away and a new Era full of new perspectives began to form. The Renaissance was known by many as the rebirth of the humanist culture.
Daijha McCrae 9W October 8th The Renaissance was a time noted for a "rebirth" of learning. the Renaissance is described as a reentrance into the world. It gave a rebirth of classical learning and a rediscovery of Greece and Rome.
The Renaissance was a time for human achievement, art, and literature. The effects of the Renaissance can still be seen today, and it changed man greatly forever, hence Renaissance meaning rebirth. Prior to the Renaissance, however, the Middle Ages occurred. The Middle Ages were a time of war and conquest after the fall of Rome, lasting from about 500 to 1300. Throughout Europe, a system referred to as Feudalism was in effect, and the Roman Catholic Church was the dominating power.
By discussing the vast and most interesting ways food was prepared, what people ate depending on their class, and how certain meats were preserved. we will be able to see just how different the world of food is today compared to the Renaissance. Renaissance food, like the era, was elegant and cultured. Meals were prepared carefully to be aesthetically pleasing and tasty. Soups were a luxury as they were very expensive due to the many spices used to add color and flavor.
Food was eaten. , cooked, and even preserved depending on their class. There's a massive difference between how they ate during the Renaissance then how we eat today. Renaissance food, like the era, was elegant and cultured.
The Renaissance was a period in time where everything started to change after the middle ages. During this historical period humans stared evolving by becoming smarter and inventing useful recourses that have changed the world. The renaissance was a life changing period which brought more joy to the world after conquering the dark ages. The Renaissance changed man’s view on the world by using Art, Science and Literature to make humans brighter and because of the rapid information they were gaining. Art during the Renaissance grew rapidly because of Leonardo Da Vici, and Michelangelo who changed the way people painted and drew by creating strategies which made art more interesting.
Later on in their life’s the men would wear shirts made out of either cotton or velvet, while during the warmer seasons they would wear breeches that went just below the knee. In colder seasons they would have pants. Women wore squaw dresses made out of blankets. Both men and women would wear moccasins whether child or adult. Every year they had special traditions.
The renaissance was a time of art and rebirth. Many great artists appeared during this time bringing their own individual skills and talent. These artists were Michelangelo, Leonardo, Donatello, and Raphael. However out of the four, Leonardo was the most significant. Not only was he a great artist, but an inventor, engineer, and scientist.
They also wore necklaces made from beads. The men wore knee length shirts. Today they have special clothes with bright colors and many colors. Homes: Their homes were very different too.
Most lower class people didn't care what they ate as long as they had something. When a town would have a poor harvest, it would lead to starvation in some areas. When the wool trade started, it gave the face of agriculture and the land enclosures a whole new look because the number of people in poverty increased rapidly. Social class has a significant role in the Renaissance and almost every aspect of life. The food in England was every hard to come across when you was poor or had low income because it depended on the social classes.
Not only is the period highly engaging but it teaches us the power of looking into the past for insights and inspiration. It also shows the importance of continual imagination. Also, the Renaissance thrived by connecting
The Renaissance is commonly known as a period of rebirth. New ways of thinking and acting were rapidly evolving. It was a time of great challenges and discoveries for the individual. People could share ideas, objects, and skills in so many ways that changed the whole outlook of humanity. For a while, the church told the people what they wanted them to believe.
Eating During the Renaissance Era Food of the Renaissance was not distributed equally; the wealthy indulged in many feasts, serving a variety of dishes. However, the people who were not wealthy or noblemen did not get the same level of nutrition or enjoy the same foods. Being wealthy has always had some sort of benefits no matter what time period it was. During the renaissance however, the wealthy are better than anyone else.

Michelangelo had a gigantic influence on the renaissance. He was a master at both painting and sculpting, he also was an architect, engineer, and poet. During his day he was unbeatable in his painting and sculpting skills. He had many artist study under him and help him with painting the Sistine Chapel in Vatican, but none were on par with him.
