I have chosen one of the days of in my recorded Food Log in order to do the Fast Food Nation assignment. I had a healthy diet, but it was not well balanced according to the daily diet nutrition, I had for breakfast banana juice, cereal of chocolate, and whole wheat bread with peanut butter. Then, for lunch I had chicken breast, rice and vegetables, after that I went to subway because I was hungry and had 1 ft. long sandwich ( the sandwich had about all vegetables and beef). At noon I had a dinner and ate almost the same that I did at lunch just small changes; I ate rice, vegetable and a good piece of meat. Lastly, during the day I had some healthy snack of vegetable soup that my mom always do for me, like that probably I would gain some weight
Based on my 5-day food log, I realized that I consumed more unhealthy fats than healthy foods like vegetables, fruits, grains, and proteins. For breakfast, I do not consume the nutrients needed to boost my energy during the day. I do not eat proteins such as eggs or dairy products and healthy snacks between meals; I eat spicy chips instead of fruits or vegetables. Often I skip lunch and eat very late for dinner. Also, I do not meet the recommended guidelines for water. Definitely, I do not eat a balanced meal and do not get enough nutrients and vitamins to sustain the body’s demands for good performance. Now, I understand why I get headaches, feeling tired and sleepy during the day; my body is not getting adequate energy sources such as carbohydrates,
My ultimate goal was to engage in at least 45 minutes of continuous physical activity at least 3 to 4 days a week. According to (Cooper, 2012), moderate amounts of exercise done for 30 to 45 minutes each day can reduce risk of developing type 2 diabetes. The baseline data collected from my daily self-monitoring of the target behavior over a two week period, found that I have an extremely sedentary lifestyle. and did not perform any aerobic activity during the duration of the two week monitoring.
Everyday food Abstract The article discusses the role of food as an instrument of identity and a channel of contact through cultures. This is discussed drawing from three cases of Italian food culture hybridization spanning from the early 20th century to the first decade of the 2000s: the role of Italian food in Italian-American identity as depicted in Leonardo Coviello’s work; the meeting of Southern and Northern food cultures following the Italian internal migrations in the ‘50s and ‘60s; the food practices of international migrants in the context of the global flows of people and commodities in present day Italy. In this regard, food plays an essential role in the rebuilding of a familiar context in which migrants can feel temporarily

In the beginning I was not drinking coffee just matcha tea. I now drink coffee and not matcha. I had no fruit on my current food diary. I am cutting way back on sugars so I eliminated a lot of fruit however I do put a little coconut sugar in my coffee in the morning. The first food diary had a lot of salads as main meals while the current food diary reflects the cooler temps with soups, squashes, and meats.
A minimum of 30 minutes of moderate physical activity each day is recommended. The intensity of exercise doesn’t have to be vigorous, many people find walking easy and enjoyable. Eating regular meals is very important for people, especially for children and adolescents, as they help keep a balanced diet and prevent us from snacking on junk food that barely provide any nutrients. Eating regular meals will always help us suffer from
Based on the Dietary Guidelines and Healthy People 2020 Objectives, I stand far ahead most of my corresponding Americans, because I genuinely work to improve my health. When contemplating meal choices, I concentrate on low calorie, low fat, and low cholesterol options. I opt for dietary foods containing whole grains, healthy fats, calorie dense, and fresh ingredients. Rather than looking to a fast food chain or grabbing the nearest choice, I research the food I plan to consume and take time to compare my choices. Along with healthy food choices, it stands essential to participate in physical activity, if maximum health remains the goal.

Although I understand that we, as humans, have become more occupied with education and extracurriculars, I think we need to understand that food is more important than twenty minutes a day. We and our bodies deserve the nutrients we need to stay healthy, and remain active for as long as possible. A large issue today is that many are resorting to fast food before and after sports and it is not giving the supplements necessary for the work-out we are giving our bodies and causing health issues down the road. Overall, we must begin a new movement, much like any other; to bring knowledge and understanding about our bodies and the food we eat to all. This understanding will foster making food at home with supplies that we know are safe for our bodies.
Eating Factory Farm-Raised Meat The American diet focuses heavily on animal products and factory farm-raised meat. Factory farming is a system of large-scale industrialized and intensive agriculture that is focused on profit with animals kept indoors and restricted in mobility. Factory farming is a very profitable business and seems to be growing daily and supported my many Americans purchasing these products. Most people don’t know where the meat they eat comes from, let alone know how these animals are treated during the entire producing process.
Our society has helped create a definition of dieting that is not only harmful to the body but also does not work. The proper definition of a diet would be the food and drink a person consumes daily and the mental and physical circumstances connected to eating. The public’s definition of a diet is to restrict oneself to small amounts or special kinds of food in order to lose weight. Those who engage in this sort of dieting begin with the wrong mentality. They believe by undertaking a diet they will lose weight and keep it off, when in reality most people fail with diets.
