To describe how important Football is to me in one sentence I would say “If I look back at my life, more than half of the time I would either be playing or watching and discussing Football”. I simply cannot explain how I roll in euphoria when my favourite team wins a match. I guess I am attracted towards this beautiful game because it challenges a person’s physical and mental strength. It teaches us the importance of performing well and putting others first, to be part of something bigger than us. Football being an integral part of my life, I was also pursuing my under graduation in Computer Science and Engineering. I incessantly try to relate both as they play a very important role in my life. For example, instead of looking at football as …show more content…

I believe data mining techniques could be used to decide the Ballon d’ or winner which is an award for the world’s best player for the respective year. Depending on the number of successful passes, number of goals, number of assists and various other parameters this could be done. Observing these many applications of Computer Science in just one sport, I always wonder how many more real life applications can be had in Computer Science. It is almost impossible to imagine how the world would function in this modern era without computers. What I find the most interesting aspect of Computer Science is the unlimited possibility of trying out and the instant knowledge of the outcome that motivates one for further analysis of the underlying principle in question. From this very point of my life, I started my journey towards the challenging world of Computer Science and Engineering. Problem Solving Using Computers (PSUC) was the subject in the first semester of my under graduation that unlocked the doors of Computer Science and Engineering (CS&E) for me. During the course, I learnt several methods of using computers to solve problems, including C and C++ programming techniques, symbolic manipulation languages. The feeling of having achieved something after writing a correct code for even the simplest of the problems such as generating Fibonacci series or checking if the string is a palindrome or not was something very unique. Even though the output is not tangible as it is in the case of the final product of a Mechanical Engineering Project, I could still get feeling of the final output of the program or code. After that, I was introduced to Data Structures which is without a doubt the most enticing subject that I had come across in my third semester of under graduation. After the course, I was spell bound to see what Data Structures could do. I found myself in a position where I could understand and appreciate the wide-ranging applications of
