Its game week and everyone is getting ready. The football players are practicing, the cheerleaders are warming up, the fans are gearing up, and the bands are practicing their performance. Everyone knows what the football players and cheerleaders do, but some don’t know what the band does. They read sheets of paper called coordinate sheets. Anybody can read a coordinate sheet when you find where you are on the football field, how many steps away you are from the line, how many steps from home or visitor hash, and how many steps beside.
I knew that no matter the cost I would not be denied my chance at becoming the number one linebacker. Then things took a turn for the worst. One week into practice my number was called. I felt overwhelmed with excitement. I knew my opportunity was not going to be wasted and that I would come out on
Rebekah Woods, a third year front ensemble member and eleventh grader quoted the movie Drumline, saying, “One band, One sound.” Band members have similar mannerisms, such as walking in time when not in band and making simple songs or beats outside of practice. Around each other, band members lose most inhibitions they have at school and enjoy the presence of other band members before practice. The 2015 Mighty Trojan Marching Band
A simple chant that the Gibson Southern football players shout right before heading on to the field. Every last player yells it at the top of their lungs and excites them for the game before them. Why would the players be so excited just by a few words about their school pride? Well, those few words hold a great meaning behind them to the players. It reminds everyone of the years spent together on the practice field, in the weight room, giving it a 100% to play for each other on the football field.
Hancock Bulldog Football Offensive Philosophy 1- Type of Offense: we run a Pro-style offense that uses 21 personnel. Our offensive design is simple and sound but also diverse and adjustable. High School Football Games Every Friday night Wilson’s very own John Gurski Stadium is packed with fans as if it was the Super Bowl. Starting at 7pm, the Wilson High School football team took the field and starts to destroy the visiting team. Just in the first quarter the Bulldogs already have two touchdowns. Touchdown after touchdown, the Bulldogs lead the game twenty one to zero.
I did well at corner-back too where I tipped a pass and I got two tackles. So I was ready to help the RB’s score a touchdown, and I was in the huddle When all of a sudden, my QB told me that I was going to get the ball on a counter play. I got really nervous when he told me this, But when I lined up for the play I remember what Bugs told me, and I got really confident. When he gave me the ball, I ran as fast as I could and juked out one kid, then trucked over another kid, and I was running away from at least 5 players ahead of me.
Our first two drives we scored and they did too so it was 14-12. We was up we was yelling as we got ready to kickoff i sprint down the field and hit the ball carrier, we both slid on the 30 yard on line and i got a turf burn and turf in my mouth it tasted like sour rubber. I looked up as the guys face was all red from embarrassment we went off the field. Our offense scored on the first play of the drive and we got the 2 point conversion, so the score was 22-12 we was up.
My teammates and I finally reached the Atlanta stadium, the head coach told us all the formations, plays, strategies, and who will be starting. When I heard "Eric Marshall will be one of the primary and starting receivers," I almost jumped in joy, because it had been a dream to play in the super bowl. As we walked into the stadium to practice, I could hear fans screaming, many of which were cheering for us. I felt as if we could not lose or we would let many, many people down. While Marcus and I were doing some practice plays, I felt great When our rivals, the Patriots came in, they looked as if they have been training for this moment for their lives.
Football has always been a huge part of my life. I fell in love with the sport in 2002 as a 9-year-old, and played on every team I could from Pop Warner to high school. Staying after school every day for practice has taught me discipline and how to be a good teammate, and I think it played a big part in who I am today. Some of my fondest memories are of my dad and me spending every Sunday watching NFL football. It ensured that he and I always had something to talk about together and we grew closer because of it.
One possibility is that the hitter either dribble the ball five yards before taking a shot on goal, or make a five yard pass to a teammate. Another set play could be a flat pass to a teammate who immediately takes a shot at the far post of the goal. Everyone else on the team would be rushing toward the goal to get ready to deflect the ball into the goal after the shot.
We had stayed at the party for two hours before it was time to go. The party had taken place at a house near the stadium, so it was a quick walk over there. Once we arrived, we suffered through pictures and waited to get in. When we finally got inside, we walked over to the infinite amount of escalators we would have to ride
James just moved into an apartment in the south end of town with his mom because his dad had left them. It had been a week since he moved in, and tomorrow would be the first day of school. He had mixed emotions; he was nervous because he would be the new kid at school, but he was excited because the school that he would be going to had a great football team. It had been three weeks since James started going to his new school. They just posted that football try-outs would be next Monday.
