In PCQM, a point is considered as a sampling unit and the area around this point is split into four 90o quarters (quadrants), and the distance of the nearest tree is measured in each quarter. In this method, the probability of individual selection sampled in each point quarter is proportional to its distance from the center of the unit. It yields quantitative data by studying trees nearest to sampling points as an estimate of numbers and distribution (a more specific methodological protocol is given in the methodology section). Based on the measurement of different variables in each quadrant (quarter) of each sampling point, various forest structure parameters can be calculated. By assuming that trees are distributed randomly, they could estimate tree density, basal area (BA), and other variables of interest. The Revolutionary War was truly, not revolutionary because the women did not get the rights they deserved until over 100 years later, slavery was not abolished and African Americans did not get rights until 1865 and 1965 respectively, and people who were poor had no more legislative representation after the “Revolution” that they did prior to this war. As seen in Document 7, during the Revolutionary War, Abigail Adams wrote a letter to her husband, John Adams, who had much political power and money asking him to “Remember the ladies” and be “more generous and favorable” to them. She also noted that the women “have no voice or representation” in the colonies and that it needs to change. This was in 1776.

Beginning in the late 19th Century, the Gilded Age was a historic period of time characterized by political corruption and angry sentiment towards government. As citizens of the United States became increasingly discontent about the current state of the nation, they started to express this anger in the form of reform movements. Leading up to the Progressive Era movements were various social, economic, and political concerns that revolved around political leaders failing to meet the needs of people. The rise of the Progressive Reform movements in the years 1870-1917 was largely influenced by conflict in the working class, governmental influence of big business, and the absence of civil rights for many American citizens.
Corporate greedy and corrupt politicians were specific problems and injustices that were present in American life during the late 1800s and early 1900s however these were addressed during the progressive era with laws and regulations. Throughout the gilded era corrupt politicians and corporate greedy allowed the upper class and businessmen to take advantage of the working class. This means that a majority of the population were hurt during the gilded age whereas a small percentage benefitted. As seen in document 1, living conditions were crowded, dirty, and unsafe.
The Kennesaw State Arboretum is spilt from an upslope and a downslope which was examined to seeing the difference in age and size of the hardwood and pine trees. The variation of age and size can be due to changes in the progressive changes in the tree species over time. This was tested by measuring pine and hardwood trees in 2 different areas of the forest, upslope and downslope, collecting tree data with at least 25cm circumference and 10 ft. tall in 5 different plots of 100 m2. The data describes the hypothesis that if the upslope and downslope parts of the forest differ in age, then the size of the eldest hardwood trees of the upslope and downslope will differ. If the upslope and downslope parts of the forest are different ages, then the forest will differ in proportion of mature hardwood relative to pine.
