(Senge,1990),identified learning organizations as organisations that inspire adaptive and generative knowledge, inspiring employees to think outside the box and work together with other employees to find the best answer problems found.
There are five core disciplines characteristics of a learning organization which are namely:
1. Personal mastery which is used by system engineers to analysis problems - the continuous individual development essential to improve the organization
2. Shared vision motivates investigation and improvement amongst multiple members - identifying what the organization is capable of becoming & having everyone understand and agree on a shared vision that guides managerial decisions
3. Team learning is an analysis that consists of more than one person acting together which is regarded as two heads are better than one - organisational intelligence is directly related to its members’ ability to act in consort. That ability must increase faster than it does at major competitors
4. Systems thinking is analysis that looks at the full picture rather than the individual problem - viewing connected events as a system

The first step is for the leader to have the ability to have and share a vision with his employees. Effective leaders have a vision for the future of the company and always want continuous improvement. For them to achieve this goal they need to communicate this gaol with employees. Secondly step to effective leadership is for the leader to be able to inspire his employees through leading by example and helps people see the greatness in themselves. The third step is for the leader to value the contribution of his employees by giving recognition when due and encourages others to do better next time.
