I believe that year round schooling is bad. My reasons for that arethat year round schooling would cost schools to much money, the quality of instruction is more importantthe time spent in school, and for some kids it’s hard to pay eattention for long periods of time. I think that my reasons are reasonable. Because it already takes a good amount of money for schools to go for nine months of school.

Attending classes year round would be outrageous. If the students did attend classes year round it would be hard to spend time with family or friends, the students would have no beaks from homework, and wouldn’t get a 10-to 12-week summer break. Having year round classes is crazy, because students would be so bored with the same subjects every day and it would feel like summer is disappearing. The impacts of year round school would probably effect more people. The teachers would get so tired of the kids, that it would lack their ability to teach and for the students to learn.
Intro: Want to know why having no three month traditional break might actually be good for people? Some people believe that school should carry on without the traditional three month break, while some other people believe that there should be the traditional three month break. Although schools should have the year round school year instead of the, traditional three month break. Reasons 1: Regular 180 school days each school year was started when kids were needed to work in the fields.
Many people in America believe that education systems seem to be declining rather than improving. One of the solutions offered to combat the declining quality of education is year-round schooling; thereby allowing students to go to school for a shorter period of time in a year and have longer breaks between periods throughout the year as opposed to the more common type in which there are ten months of schooling and then a two-month summer break. I believe that all students should have a break where they can take the necessary amount of time allotted to relieve themselves from the stress of a busy schedule. Public schools should not have year-round schedules because they are ineffective, would lower student’s grades, and result in less time for students to relax and participate in extracurricular activities. Year-round schooling is a relic of the past, and it did not yield favorable results.
Four Day Week Most children all around the world can all agree on one thing, school is awful. Around one-hundred of the country’s, fifteen-thousand school districts currently use the four day school week. Schools should all convert to four day weeks for the following reasons. It is proven that a four day school week helps academic growth.
After reading, ¨Say No To Year-Round Schooling¨ by Nick Castillino. I was convinced th having a summer break would be better for the kids. Amy said, kids who are struggling in school wouldn't have to go to summer schools anymore, it would be hard for kids to have such a long attention span, and it would cost too much for the school districts. In Amy MacDonald's article she said,¨Children who are struggling in school would no longer have to go to summer school.¨ But I think that if kids have to go to summer school during their breaks, It is a good lesson for the kids to do well in school so they do not have to go to summer school.
Block Scheduling: Stay or Go? Throughout schools there are either full seven periods in a school day or other schools have block scheduling. Block scheduling is four periods in a day which are ninety minute classes, and every day you have different classes. In schools that have seven periods in a day, the classes are only forty five to fifty minutes. Some schools think that block scheduling would be better in schools.
There are pros and cons to year round schooling. Summer should be a time for kids to get a break from the previous school year. Another reason is that kids should do enriching activities in the summer, along with scheduling fun, family trips. Although, year round schooling makes it difficult for these things to happen during the summer. Year round schools can also help prevent summer learning loss, or “summer slide”.
. Students remember more, resulting in teachers spending less time reviewing material. Most educators and students acknowledge they do not read over summer break, this is a challenge for English teachers, so they spend the first grading quarter reviewing. One of the most stressful times a student will experience is the first day of school; year round school abates the suspense of a long summer break. Has previously mentioned, students roll from one grade to the next and because they are still in school mode the stress they feel from change or starting a new year disappear.
