Frankenstein Essay
When reading Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, one can not help but consider what it means to be human. The term “human” can best be defined as a human being, especially a person as distinguished from an animal or (in science fiction) an alien. In Frankenstein, she tells the story of a creator that was created and tries to live life but ends up haunting victor for most of the book. According to the author, he is not totally human. The creature in Frankenstein is not human because he was built and, has superhuman powers The creature Frankenstein is not human because he was created in a lab. In the graphic novel, Victor states that the creature he is creating is lifeless. The author asserts “I became capable of bestowing animation upon lifeless matter.” page 35. This is one piece of evidence that shows he was created and is not human. In addition, the graphic novel continues with illustrations that show him being created. On page 85 of the Frankenstein novel there are many illustrations of the creature being put together. This confirms he is not human that he was built. Also, in …show more content…

In the graphene novel he has superhuman powers because he can climb mountains really fast. “Shelly states “ “ He suddenly quitted me fearful, perhaps of any change in sediment. I saw him descend the mountain with greater speed than the flight of an eagle, and quickly lost him among the undulations of the sea of ice.” page 118. This shows he has powers. In addition, the graphic shows an illustration of him walking outside and coming back with 4x as much wood then the dude came back with. On page 98. This confirms that the monster is not human.
