If you want to have a good relationship and become more courges read the book the Fright the Mighty. To begin in Freak the Mighty two boys named Kevin also known as Freak and Max.They both have some type of disability. Freak has a disability that makes him small, and Max has a learning disability. Because Max is not the brightest but very tall, and Freak is as smart as Einstein. Wherever the two go, Freak is always on Max shoulder making them taller than nine foot. They bring their powers together and create Freak the Mighty. The theme stated in Freak the Mighty by Rodman Philbrick is everyone needs a loyal friend and at some point in your life you have to show a little courage. To begin everyone needs to show a little courage in their life. One of the themes Rodman Philbrick is showing in my opinion is everyone needs to show a little courage in their life. To start of on page one hundred and twenty eight and one hundred and twenty nine when Killer Kane is choking Loretta . Max stood up to his dad and saved to help loretta.Max could have left and …show more content…
Weather that be a friendship or a dating status. One page one hundred thirty two when Max grabs Freak and runs away from killer kane.Max could have left to save himself but instead Max grabs Freak and saves both of them. Another example of where loyalty is key in a relationship is on page one hundred twenty six when Loretta puts her life in danger and helps save Max. She could have left Max for Kane to take him away of his family, but instead Loretta shows loyalty and helps Max escape from killer Kane. Why theys two examples matter so much is both of the character could have easily left and saved himself and but they stayed and show a lot of loyalty helping the two characters escape. This is the last example of the theme in Freak the Mighty by Rodman Philbrick. Which is that loyalty is key in a good
so they became forever friends. In both the movie and the book Freak dies because his heart grew too big for his little body. Both the book and the movie are amusing. Both Freak and Max were bullied. Both in the book and the movie Max had a disorder with his body that prevented him from playing sports.
When Richie and Peewee left the squad and made it up the hill, they stuck close and were holding hands. When they were stuck in the spider hole and Peewee was hurt Richie wasn’t going to leave him behind, or even if it meant they both died at least they were together. Another example is, when Monaco and Peewee got the chopper and Monaco helped Peewee getting on. That isn't the only time you see loyalty. Although Gearhart and Johnson disliked each other, they still fought together as one to bring the enemy down.
Never judge a person by how they look, but by their personality. To begin, in the realistic fiction novel, Freak the Mighty, by Rodman Philbrick, they are two friends, Max and Freak, with disabilities. Max is a very tall person who has a learning disability and Freak is not that tall and has morquio syndrome. They end up going on adventures and facing trouble. There are two themes that could be found throughout the book.
Ponyboy decided to be loyal and help his friend Johnny after he killed a Soc. Even though Mama went to jail for striking, Susan Elizabeth stayed loyal to her and kept her campaign running while Mama was in jail. And Logan was loyal to Miles, Daisy and (sometimes) Phillip and Daisy, Miles and Phillip were loyal to Logan no matter what was in their past so they can all save the the candy business. Now that is loyalty. But the real question
What’s happening in the story is that Max is acting tough but he’s not. In paragraph 50/51 the text says The boys asked Max if he had been crying “Naw” he said “there was the water dripping from the tunnel roof but you said don’t move right?” “Well I was just being obedient.” This shows that this is important because it’s showing that he’s acting tough
In the book Freak the Mighty by Rodman Philbrick, there are contrast and contradiction moments that are revealing change. In the book, Grim and the School nurse both say,“ Everything is going to be okay maxwell, I am sure of it.” But, Max thinks he is okay and nothing bad is going to happen and Freak is the one that needs someone to tell him he is going to be okay, because stuff is happening to freak.
In lines 14-15, Dabydeen remarks how Max “used to dream about being in Canada,” demonstrating his now-smothered fantasies about the place he could once live. In parallel, the author includes mention of Max’s nostalgic dreaming of the island, “He pictured the faces of the fellas on the island,”(lines 53-55) alluding to the lingering theme of regretful sacrifices. Max internally argues, through his fantasizing, that he could’ve had a reasonably stable life, had he remained on the island. His complex situation is exposed through juxtaposition once more through the contrasting statement of how this weary protagonist is “prepared for hell” (line 6), despite being in search of an impending, “sweet heaven” (line 8). This illustrates the complexity of his sense of place; he once dreamed about inhabiting Canada, yet his search of personal satisfaction is incomplete— he awaits a sanctuary in the future.
Max has his meeting with the principle, then soon after Freak chokes on food. Also, the novel and the movie both have or show Max living with Gram and Grim. There is also Freak naming the elements of the fireworks show while sitting on Max’s shoulders. They find Loretta’s purse in the drain.
Then he and Max escaped from the place with Max holding him in his arms and running as fast as he could. This was a situation where both combined the strength that they needed to escape. In this situation, Freak got the time and Max got the speed. Rodman Philbrick's trying to show the theme that working in a team is better than working alone with the plot. Let me ask you, would you work in a team and work better or work alone and might not have the same results?
Kevin Avery who is also considered as "Freak", is a short twelve year old boy who has a physical deformity on the inside of his body. He is unable to walk properly so he uses his crutches to help him but despite his physical disability, he is a pure genius. He lives right beside Max's house with his mother Fair Gwen who was the friend of Max's mother. Ever since Freak and Max met, they both have become very close friends. Since Freak could not walk, he jumps on Max's back and acts like his brain.
In the novel Michael Vey, Richard Paul Evans conveys the idea of friendship and fidelity in the midst of the book through the unyielding bonds created and withheld. Within the story, Michael Vey, and his omnipotent team do not cease to vanquish their seditionist, Admiral Hatch and his army with despicable plans to utterly change the people of the world... and not for the better. Michael and his friends perpetually remain faithful to one another, even when they could easily turn their backs and return to a "normal" life. Though many times the "Electroclan" (what they called themselves) had multiple rendezvous with death, the team wouldn 't give up, and fought to save not only themselves but each other. "Suicide or not, I have to try to save
In fact as a result to being loyal you become closer to your family and friends. “I had to they were drowning you Ponyboy. They might have killed you. “-said Johnny in The Outsiders. Johnny values loyalty over everything else.
Brady made the wrong choice and it resulted in the death of a child. Digger and J.T. made the right choice and that resulted in them getting a better sentence. I only wrote about two examples of this theme but there were many more. As you saw, doing the wrong thing resulted horribly and doing the right thing helped the person making that choice. Although these choices ended up on complete opposites of the scale, I think Priscilla Cummings was just trying to show that the right thing is always what a person should try
Friendship “A best friend is someone who you can talk to, who won’t judge you, loves you for you, and most of all, makes you feel like you are worth something.” Even though this is written by an anonymous person, it is still extremely empowering. During the novel Freak the Mighty, Max and Kevin demonstrated a strong friendship. In fact, when they accepted each other without judgment and made each other feel like they belonged, their friendship grows. Friendship is important because having a good friend can get you through rough and frustrating times.
If Max had known much earlier that he has Asperger’s Syndrome, he would not have experienced the traumatic life experience as he had. Max would have accepted his shortcomings and have the freedom of will to change for the better. It’s just that people and society in general are not aware of the many types of disorders and that help is available. Max is just unfortunate that he is an orphan and did not have anyone to help him. Mr Erikson say that the Identity vs Role Confusion stage usually ends when the teenager is aged 25 to 30 but the theory lacks any object way to determine if a person has “passed” or “failed” a particular stage of development.
