` Love is something that everybody is searching for in life, but if you let that love spiral out of control it could lead to something much worse. (How it Relates to Play) Other people also had a big impact on this one of those people was Friar Lawrence.(Provides additional Info) The Friar is most to blame for Romeo and Juliet's deaths because he was involved in many of the events that went wrong leading to their deaths.(Thesis) First of all it was the Friar idea for Juliet to fake her death in the first place. He could have just told Juliet to go to Mantua and be with Romeo without having a complicated plan that would go wrong. The Friar said “Take thou this vial, being in bed and this distilling liquor drink thou off”(Iv.i.93). He is saying lay in bed and drink this poison. He could have just told her to leave Verona instead. He also says “No warmth, no breath, shall testify thou livest’(Iv.i.98). He is saying that it will seem like she is dead even though she is not. The Friar was responsible for sending a letter to Mantua to let Romeo know the plan but he did not receive it. In the play, he says “I’ll send news to Mantua, with my letter to thy lord”.(Iv.i.123) He did not take care of this himself though he sent Friar John with the letter. They would not let him leave the city. He says “I could not send it, here it is again”(V.ii.14). Romeo did not end up getting the letter in time and he went to Verona. Love resembles a fire, difficult to start, easy to set off, throughout Romeo and Juliet's journey, Friar Laurence is the water, setting off their love with the worst decisions he could possibly make. In The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare, occurs many different scenes portraying the story of two star-crossed lovers, hence the name, to their lamentable death. But throughout this whole play, Friar Laurence was easily the magnet for the most chaos between their love, making very unintelligent decisions that lead to their death. Although Friar Laurence seems very helpful, he easily proves to cause the most disorder causing the inevitable death of Romeo and Juliet. Friar Laurence admits countless times he couldn't help Romeo with his love affair, but the main problem was improper plan making, which lacks a large extent of time and thought.
Friar Laurence is to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because of his irresponsible actions and choices. Firstly, Friar Laurence was the one who agreed to marry Romeo and Juliet in secret. This choice made by Friar Laurence was the first event that contributed to their deaths.

Romeo and Juliet for disobeying their parents rules, Juliet’s family for not talking to her, Romeo’s friends for not trying to stop him. But, Friar Lawrence is the character most to blame for the tragic events in Romeo and Juliet because he married the couple without their parents permission, didn’t help them go down the right path, and not telling their parents about all the plans that had been made.
The play, Romeo and Juliet, is about two star-crossed lovers that had been led to their death because of various actions of different characters. The actions that caused the death of these lovers were foolish. The characters that greatly impacted the death of Romeo and Juliet are the two households, Montague and Capulet, Friar Laurence and the two lovers themselves, Romeo and Juliet. Whether deliberately or unintentionally, their actions have all lead to the tragic death.
Romeo and Juliet is a play about star-crossed lovers. Romeo is apart of a high class Montague family; their rival is the Capulet family. Romeo falls in love with the daughter of Lord Capulet. They want to get married but they know that this will not be approved between their family feud. This is why they secretly ask Friar Laurence to marry them in secret.

When Friar John gets back, Friar Lawrance asks John what Romeo’s response was to his letter. John then tells him he was unfortunately unable to deliver the letter. “Suspecting that we both were in a house Where the infectious pestilence did reign, Sealed up the doors and would not let us forth, So that my speed to Mantua there stayed”(V.ii. 217). Friar John was on his way to deliver Friar Lawrences’s letter to Romeo, but fate had another plan. She placed an illness in the town John was in and he was forced to quarantine; because of this, Romeo was unable to receive the letter which then leads to him making the reckless decisions leading to the end of his and Juliet’s life.
Friar Lawrence asked this to John. Friar John could not deliver that letter because of an infection, the Black Plague. I don’t know why Lawrence didn’t just deliver the letter himself and not put his responsibilities on somebody else. He was just trying to help, but resulted in the death of Romeo, Juliet, and Paris. If Romeo would have got the letter, then he would have never gone and bought that poison and killed himself in the Capulet’s tomb.
This quote shows that the letter hasn’t reached Romeo and the plan has failed. There is a quote that shows that Friar Lawrence has failed to deliver the letter to Romeo. Friar realizes his mistake and sees how much it affects the plan. Friar says that the “Failure too deliver it, could do much damage”(Shakespeare V.II.20). Quote shows Friar has made a mistake, even Friar Lawrence himself realizes, that’s why he is to blame for their death.
He, meanwhile would send a note to Romeo informing him of the hoax that was being perpetrated on the Capulets and Paris, and asking Romeo to meet him at the graveyard where Juliet would greeted them alive and well. Unfortunately, the message never arrived. This was revealed when Friar John told Friar Laurence, " I could not send it, here it is again / Nor get a messenger to bring it thee" (5.2.14-15). Friar Laurence had not told the messenger the importance of the letter reaching Romeo. Friar Laurence tells his plan to Juliet, but he never gets to speak to Romeo in person because Romeo is banished from Verona and now resides in Mantua. Friar Laurence then writes a letter, which Friar John is expected to deliver to Romeo. When Balthasar, Romeo’s dedicated servant, comes upon the news of Juliet, he immediately goes to Romeo saying, “Her body sleeps in Capel’s monument.” (5.1, 18). Friar Laurence did not communicate with Friar John before the continuation of his plan--sedating Juliet.

Friar Lawrence sent a letter to Romeo Montague that she was not dead and that Romeo needs to meet Juliet in her tomb when she awakes. Romeo did not receive this letter and he truly thought Juliet died. Friar Lawrence gave the letter to Friar John. Friar John not realizing the importance of this letter calmly told Friar Laurence, “I could not send it,--here it is again,--/ Nor get a messenger to bring it thee,/” (Shakespeare 5.2.14-15).
