Abstract
The purpose of this study is to propose a method to decide near optimal settings of the welding process parameters in friction welding. Success of the Friction welding process is based on various input parameters and output values. The input parameters are friction pressure (FP), friction time (FT), upset pressure (UP) and upset time (UT), the output are tensile strength, hardness and material losses. Based on the input and output values the strength can be analyzed. In our present investigation, Ti-6Al-4V and SS304L materials were joined by friction welding process using interlayer techniques. In this study, optimum process parameters are analyzed for better weld strength.
Key words: Friction welding, welding parameters, Ti6Al4V, SS304L, Copper, Interlayer.
1. Introduction
Joints of dissimilar metal combination are popular in recent years in the field of special applications like Automotive, aerospace, defence, marine etc., the joining of dissimilar metal by solid state welding is widely preferred in such situation. Titanium alloys are the most preferred materials now days due to its superior properties and best life time performance.

Such intermetallics region has improved the bonding strength and high tensile strength compared to direct bonding. Though the binary phase diagram of Cu-Ti indicates the occurrence of various Cu-Ti intermetallic phases with increasing Cu content, the low melting point of copper encourages improved contact area in the mating surfaces. The nature and the localization of intermetallic phases in these welds have been studied by EDS, XRD and micro hardness measurements. The local accumulation of Cu3–Ti and Fe30CuMn30 based phase is less detrimental to the strength of the welds, which makes joining possible
During we test our Atwood’s machine, we asked to control the time between two weight to touch the ground in 2 second. However, it is really difficult to have difference time in 2 seconds in the real life ever we calculate to get the true mass of weights. There are two causes that we think may affect our margin of error which is the friction and the human benchmark. The friction always is the main issue of any experiments.
Welding plays an enormous role in today's advancing economy. A trade is an occupation that takes great skill and is down with one's hands the most common trades are carpentry, electricians, plumbing, auto mechanics and welding. All this trades are intertwined by one another but one of the most important career listed is welding. Without the ability to weld, cars wouldn’t be driving down the road, there would be no bridges, or even carrier ships carrying cargo to other areas of the world. Welding ensures the safety for everybody that it is involved in.
Careers in welding Welding is a highly skilled trade that involves joining together two or more pieces of metal by melting and fusing them. It is a key component of various industries, including manufacturing, construction, automotive, and aerospace. Welding demands expert precision, as even the smallest mistake can compromise the integrity of the joint. With the rising demand for skilled welders, careers in welding offer numerous opportunities for individuals seeking a fulfilling and prosperous profession. One of the most attractive aspects of a career in welding is its versatility.
In some societies, students are expected to identify a career by the time they enter high school. Their courses of study in high school are selected to guide them toward a specific career. I do not think it is a good idea because the students are not old enough to know what career they actually want, they do not know what the job is fully about, and they may have several different careers they like. Students are not old enough to know what career they actually want. Many of times students say the want to be a doctor, but when they get close to that career they tend not to like it as much anymore.
Career and College research paper The career i have chosen is welding. welders do all kinds of stuff. The certain thing i wanna do in welding is an iron worker. Iron workers weld up any kind of metal.
You have to be equipped well now! That’s what a car darkening helmet does for you. It lets you be equipped while the welding starts off evolved off evolved, not a 2nd later, while it’s too overdue to get better. It’s now not like you can whip some white-out and eliminate the weld. You will grind it out.
Welding is a trade that involves joining metal pieces together to form a strong bond. It is a crucial skill that is used in various industries such as construction, automotive, aerospace, and manufacturing. Welding is a career that offers job security, good pay, and the opportunity for growth. This paper is going to provide an overview of welding as a career, including the job description, required education and training, job outlook, salary, and career advancement opportunities. Welders use various welding techniques to join metal pieces together.
The four most popular types of welding are SMAW,MIG,FCAW,TIG (Lincoln). But the most popular is MIG which is exactly what i want to do and what i've been learning how to
Welding is a great job but not many people know what welding is or how it work. According to Thomas net welding is the process of joining metal together with heat welders can work on many kind of structures such as mobile homes, pipes, steel reinforcement and others. Because welding is a relatively easy manufacturing process and provide a great deal of strength (Thomas). To become a welder you need four skills the first skill you need is problem solving because welder must be exceptional problem solver who pay attention to details. They have to spot flaws in materials and designs troubleshoot broken areas and know to fix parts or equipment. The second skill math and science welders constantly use their knowledge of fundamental science and math
Tulsa Welding school is the best welding school in United States. The campus I will be on is Jacksonville. This school helps you get a job while you are going to school and helps find a place to live. After you get out of their program they help you get a job of your choice. The course will be pipe fitting.
Welding has always been a passion of mine ever since my step-dad first showed me what welding was when I was 14, ever since then I’ve wanted to go into some field of welding, as long as i got to weld. I quickly picked up on how to weld and what is required when welding, including but not limited to patience, steady-hands, precision, strong will and so on and so forth. What we are going to be going through with this paper is everything that would come with welding for a living ranging from how much money you make a year to what kind of education is required. Welding does not require a very high education to go into the field.
Never judge a book by it’s cover, but that's all people do these days is judge, judge, judge. Some may say welding is a dangerous, unpredictable, a harmful thing to participate in. Some might even ponder on the word “Weld” and think if they know what it is. But only if you've done it then you will never know what it feels like (or what it is), the rush of adrenalin and the art it can create. People who weld learn to be themselves, they become more alert and welding can help with further career choices.
I’m currently taking a welding class in High School and I have already achieved a couple of certs. This year i’m entering the TSA competition hoping to win district and maybe even be a state champion. The reasons why I would like to attend Tulsa Welding School is to further my education on welding and it’s also a small sized school located close to home. Tulsa Welding School is only specific for welding and pipefitting and doesn’t have other courses, so you can focus only on what you are really there for.
Safety is the number one consideration when it comes to jobs like welding. Welding can be very hazardous to a welder if he or she is not wearing the proper safety gear or taking the proper safety procedures. When welding a number of things could go wrong from explosions and gases and fumes to electrical shocks, burns and more. This paper will describe welding hazards and procedures that can be taken to avoid them. One of the main safety hazards of welding is fumes and gases.
My overall favorite type of welding is “stick welding”. This type of welding has been around for more than 100 years. Stick welding, which is also known as shielded metal arc welding, is a type of welding that uses a stick electrode. This type of welding doesn’t cost much to operate and has minimal equipment. Stick electrodes come in many different sizes.
