I have included this artifact in my portfolio because it demonstrates my ability to convey academic material in a creative way. In this lesson, students are learning about function using a manipulative called a Function Machine. This machine represents any other machine in life and shows students that when you input something into a machine, you are always guaranteed one output. Functions and function rules are given life and become tangible through this collaborative activity. Students are working with a partner to explore how function rules dictate how particular input values will react.
