As Senior year continues it is time to get serious and start thinking about the future. Up until freshman year I didn’t know what I wanted to do as my future career. All I knew was that I wanted to go into a career that I enjoyed going to work every day not something that I am going to dread for the rest of my life. I thought about criminal justice, being a nurse, and even being a lawyer; however, freshman year I finally found my career calling. I joined the Agricultural Education Program and realized that I want to go into Animal Science. I want to be a large animal vet, so I looked for colleges and sent out applications to the ones with my major available, After doing more research on them I have came down two potential colleges for my future education that I would enjoy attending next fall upon my acceptance. The colleges of my choice come down to The University of …show more content…
The Associate of Applied Science Programs, A.A.S, take two years to graduate, there are thirteen programs from Crop Management to Turfgrass Management. Including Livestock Management which is my preferred major. The Associate of Science Programs, A.S., take four years to graduate and I would transfer to the Ohio State University main campus in Columbus after two years. There are sixteen programs from Agricultural Communication to Renewable Energy. The expenses per semester is a lot more affordable than most colleges of $7,000; however, there isn’t as much possible financial help available(“Ohio State ATI”). The Ohio State Agricultural Technical Institute offers many helpful things such as the classrooms are small being between 25 and 30 students per classroom. Its classes have more hands-on experience than most schools have. It is a Public school so therefore it doesn’t cost as much to attend; however, it is an hour and forty minutes away, so I would have to live on campus(“Ohio State
I have been thinking a lot about what I want to do when I graduate high school. I believe I have come to a final decision. I am going to be a heavy diesel technician. This line of work interests me because I have been in a diesel truck since I was around three years old. My dad is a truck driver and he used to own a few trucks that I had to help work on, and I just fell completely in love.
As I look into my future as a senior in high school, I am looking into an entirely different lifestyle. At this point of my life, I have new friends, new experiences, and I am at the peak of the excitement as a young adult. However, what I do not know is what University I will be attending to come upon this new and exciting part of my life. The two universities that I have chosen to evaluate to prepare for my attendance in the fall of 2016 are Oral Roberts University and Oklahoma Wesleyan University. I applied to both colleges and I have received an acceptance letter from each university.
I wasn’t always sure what I’d be going to study there, but after some work experiences and reflecting on my own time in an agricultural education program, I eventually settled on something known as agricultural education and communications. After graduating high school in 2015, I took a year to finish
Focus 2 Assignment – Reflection Upon completing the Focus 2 career assessment program, I am quite impressed at the quality of information it presents. It allowed me to not only look at careers that would fit my personality, but also those that take into consideration the fields I am already interested in. Also, as with any form of self-assessment, there were strengths and weaknesses that I did not expect based on how I feel I live my life currently. Beginning chronologically, the program had me complete two subjective, current measures of my professional career.
My plan for college is to get a bachelor 's degree in kinesiology and exercise science. The first five colleges and universities recommended for a four year graduates degree are Appalachian state, Brevard, Campbell, Catawba, and Chowan. I think that I will go to Appalachian state because it has a lot of students and that makes me think it has a good kinesiology
When I first graduated high school I thought I wanted to be a pilot to fly airplanes, so I signed up to attend classes at Kishwaukee College located in DeKalb. ECC helped me sing up for classes at an in district rate because Elgin could not offer the courses that I wanted to me. During the first semester I found out that I did not want to become a pilot anymore and that I would be happier if I changed and focused on computer science. The advisors helped me schedule classes back at ECC for computer science then next semester. During the last year and a half at ECC I have been able to start fulfilling my education goals by getting a good education and find out what I want to go to college for.
After many days of endlessly searching, a friend of mine, who was a student at Cornell University, suggested looking into this distinguished establishment. After researching everything there is to know about Cornell and talking about it to my parents, they agreed that this quintessential university will undoubtedly contribute to my future success. Not only does Cornell appeal to me due to the fact that this university is one of eight (but undoubtedly the most supreme) Ivy League schools, but Cornell also stands out to me because of its appreciation of community, location, and golden educational programs- more specifically, the fact that Cornell has consistently been ranked in the top tier of veterinary
I didn 't always know that nursing was my choice of career. I have had no divine intervention, nor am I following in the footsteps of a parent or relative. However, I have had the pleasure of meeting a few healthcare professionals who have recently inspired me with their skill and passion; which I someday hope to equal or excel. I believe my main reason for choosing nursing as a career is my desire to help people; especially in some of their most vulnerable moments. I do not only want to be a caretaker, but I want to be a friend and trusted advisor to my patient.
One of my goals is to go to this University because I aspire to become a professional chef and maybe one day have my own restaurant. Once, I get into this University I am planing to take the six quarter Culinary Arts program which would take me about two years to finish. I want to go to this University because I can get there the international and fundamental skills that I need for the culinary industry and this University is also in Los Angeles which is where I want to live. This is my dream college and it’s one of my goals to attend
My long term educational goal is to become a medical doctor. I am currently working on getting my Associates degree in Science from Northern Virginia Community College and then transfer to a university and get my bachelors in Biology. I prefer to transfer either to the University of Virginia or to Virginia Commonwealth University since they have medical schools.
1.) My dream job throughout my childhood has always been to do something to help people. There was always and still is a variety of choices to choose from such as a teacher, counselor, social worker and many more. My dream profession after careful thought and consideration is to be a social worker but I would like to expand on it and open up my own foster home. I would like to open up my own foster home to take care, to help, and give the children a safe place to live that can 't get adopted instead of having them on the street or somewhere worse.
I believe that I am an appropriate candidate for employment for the open position of a psychologist. I have always been driven by the desire to help others and to attempt to make their life’s easier. Although one cannot make someone change they can give helpful advice that can help an individual. Due to these desires of helping others, I decided to pursue a degree in psychology at Southern Illinois University. During my time in college I excelled in my classes graduating with honors.
The career choice of a historian is a difficult one, reading or writing papers for hours is a lot of hard work, and the career field has a low salary. Some High Schools aren’t providing enough career based classes for students, and students are graduating un prepared for their future careers. Students aren’t getting the enough help with graduating, and most students are only completing a small number of courses that have them college ready or career ready. Only a small amount of high school students are completing classes that prepare them for college and future careers. In the article, “Only 8 Percent of Students Complete College- and Career-Ready Curriculum” by Catherine Getwertz states, “Only 7 percent complete a curriculum sequence that prepares them for both career and college.” A small portion of students, which isn’t even half aren’t graduating well prepared due to not enough career curriculums.
