From the time that we are all born, we slowly begin to piece together what we want for our future. Our future consists of the life we plan on living, the colleges we attend, and the career we pursue. This plan is what drives our everyday lives, making us push hard, and giving us a reason to endeavor. Everybody has their own unique plan unlike anyone else's and that is what sets us all apart. My personal life goal is to push myself to become a cardiothoracic surgeon, which will require not only much education and work experience but also a desire.
One of the most stressful thoughts for us as we near the end of our high school career is the question as to what do we want to do for the rest of our lives. When I envision this idea, I know I want to be a surgeon, not for the money or nice cars, but for the good I can do with it. Albert Einstein once said, "Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value." I take this to heart for I don't want to be seen as a man who of riches, but a man of grace. I want to be the man who gives others chance to live better lives and go on to success, the man that parents want their kids to model after. One of the biggest motivations for this career is my wish for the adrenalized work life of surgery. I want a job that keeps me on my toes versus where I just rot away. As Grey's Anatomy star Derrick Shepherd continuously said, "It's a beautiful day to save lives." I know that this job would leave me with a constant natural high that kept me wanting to rush right back to work.
