GMOs are considered to be the next agricultural “innovation” as some would say, but this is incorrect. They think that GMOs are a way to feed everyone on earth. Giving them the nutrients that they need to grow in conditions that most plants can’t live in, while not causing harm to physical and environmental health. They are wrong. But are people just being blinded by the science? In its place of providing individuals with beneficial information, obligatory GMO labels would only intensify the misconception that so called Franken foods endangers people’s health. Most major European retailers had to remove GM products from their shelves because they were worried that this kind of technology would drive people away.
The proposed goal of GMOs is to increase food production. This will supposedly in turn lower food costs, and make it easier to distribute food to feed poor populations around the world. However research shows that global food production has increased enough to, “feed 10 billion people”, one and a half times more than what we need to feed every single person on Earth (The Huffington Post). And yet with this charming initiative having been accomplished, there are still groups of people going hungry everyday. This is not to say that companies like Monsanto are to blame for leaving people hungry or in poverty, but it questions if their goals are based on true concern.

With the rise of GMOs, people need to completely understand what they are, and the risks and benefits that come with using these techniques. The damage done by GMOs to the environment might result in the death of these living creatures; due to such effects genetically modified crops should be banned. Some people may argue that the technology used in the production of genetically modified crops helped the farmers when the use chemicals such as pesticides and insecticides when they work. In addition, such chemicals also affect the animals present in farms not just the farmers, so the new technology of GMOs helped living creatures to survive in farms. According to Phipps and park, “In the 1970’s the World Health Organisation (WHO) estimated that there were globally 500,000-pesticide poisonings/year, resulting in 5,000 deaths” (2002, p.2). This shows clearly the danger of the usage of poisonous pesticides or insecticides that the farming of genetically modified crops helps in avoiding the usage of such chemicals, therefore GMOs are considered to be ecofriendly.
GMOS Introduction: I believe that GMOS are good for this world and for the people because the gmos can save us from starving when all the food is gone. GMOS are a genetically modified organism is an organism whose genetic materials that have been altered using genetic engineering techniques. GMO foods are okay to eat because some food that have gmos could have some genetic characteristics in them to make the food survive the hot when that food has to be frozen. GMOS are different from foods that don 't have GMOS Body 1: GMOS can save the world because if we had no food because if there was a drought and the plants died. Mostly, the article centered on how scientists and their research on genetically modified organisms (GMO) /crops are safe to eat and have the capability to change worldwide hunger, but the public opposition to (GMOs) remains strong.
