DATES:
AP exams will be given at GSSM May 2-6 and May 9-13.

In order for the State of South Carolina to pay for most of the costs associated with AP exams, you MUST have taken or be currently taking the AP class or classes for each test you wish to take. GSSM does charge a small handling fee of $10 per test, which is allowed by AP. Every year a number of students order exams they don't take. You may cancel an exam until the order has been processed for free but you MUST talk to Ms. Hall in person. After that it will cost you $15 for each exam cancelled. So think about what you can actually take

Good Afternoon Mike, I was told to contact you regarding Santa Fe College transferring in credits that I obtained for ACE credits. After speaking to Mary Thames in Health Services Department as well as Jackie (lead transcript evaluator) I was informed this morning that the college will not accept my credits because they were not obtained from a regionally accredited college. I am so incredibly saddened and disappointed with this news. It 's truly like ripping the floor right out from underneath me.

On February 16, 2012, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed into action for both the city police force and the campus police force. Proposed by Past President Dr. Jonathan Gibralter (2006-2015) in a joint effort with Frostburg Mayor Robert Flanigan, this MOU was the joint agreement between the two parties following a second horrendous crime off Frostburg State University’s campus in 2011. Part of the MOU that is discussed in Section V Funding for the Promotion of Public Safety, includes the university annually providing $200,000 for the purpose of providing assistance to the city to enhance and improve public safety for the citizens of the City of Frostburg. The funds for the MOU with the City of Frostburg come from the “state-supported” revenue. 97% of these funds come from the tuition paid by each student and the funding FSU receives from the state (hence the name: state-support).

In the article “The Case for Historically Black Colleges and Universities: Understanding Race Relation in the United States Through its HBCUs” written by Priscelle Biehlmann, she uses data to argue that there are more advantages for both black and non-black students when attending a HBCU rather than a Predominately White Institution (PWI). First she discusses the how HBCUs emerged during the Reconstruction Period. Then she highlights the how court cases such as the 1898 Plessy v. Ferguson and 1954 Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court had an effect on HBCUs. She then transitions by providing distinct advantages Black and non-Black students undergo when attending a HBCU. Biehlmann starts the article discussing the emergence of HBCUs.
