Everyone loves water and gatorade but the real question is, which is a better choice for kids during a regular daily basis or even during sports. “Sports drinks” like gatorade and powerade are supposed to replenish electrolytes that are lost through sweat, but why do kids need to have 34 grams of sugar and a dose of chemical food dye in order to replenish their electrolytes after an hours worth of practice. After a game, the kids should have water to replenish what they have lost through sweat. In my opinion the kids should be able to choose what drink they want after a game or even practice because since they have been working hard, yes they are losing electrolytes, but water does not provide them back into the body afterwards like a gatorade
Your own culture can be a topic that is hard to grasp. It is much easier to see someone else’s culture because they are different from you. In the personal essay, “Ethnic Hash” explains, “Do I even have an ethnicity?” My culture, even though it may be hard to see in my own eyes can be represented by my passion for running. My sport influences the way I eat, dress, what I spend money on, and my friends along with the choices I make through everyday life.
I chose this topic because I have always been skeptical about the validity of the quantity of electrolytes said to be in sports drinks. Sports drinks have been recommended as a way to replace electrolytes lost during exercising. However, orange juice also has electrolytes and these are naturally occurring, not man made. Although water is also a liquid recommended for exercise, it is not used for strenuous exercise because it has no electrolytes. This was all proven during my experiment.
Gatorade is an energy drink that is made to maximize athletes strength in the harsh surrounding like heat. Gatorade was created by a man named Robert Cade who Was the Assistant coach of the Florida Gators as you can see right here, “Gatorade was developed by Cade 's team who were helping the University of Florida football team deal with dehydration related to playing
Gatorade and Powerade are sport drinks made for athletes to stay hydrated. Gatorade and Powerade have the same amount of sugar and carbohydrate content in it. Both drinks have a variety of flavour and mixtures to offer. In addition, both drinks contain vitamins, minerals, and electrolytes for better energy distribution. The results of this experiment will identify the better drink for endurance.
Did you know that Gatorade and other sports drinks contain electrolytes that can be used in a battery solution? These electrolytes are the same ones that replenish your body after exercise. Gatorade and other drinks have different electrolyte activity rates. That makes the battery either more or less powerful. A battery can be made with more electrolyte containing materials than you think. A battery can be made with anything that has electrolyte activity.
Being a person of sports and fitness, the brand ‘Gatorade’ is quite familiar. Gatorade isn't just any sports drink but a sports drink that is known for its exquisite taste and excellent job at replacing ones electrolytes. Gatorade is a beverage most enjoy but for athletes it is practically a blessing. The world known drink motivates and pushes its athletes to go above and beyond and to be sure to hydrate as well. In one of the many Gatorade commercials out there, I was able to see as to how Gatorade used ethos, pathos and logos to both amuse and convince its audience. In the ad I watched, a customer wants to simply purchase a bottle of gatorade but the gas station clerk just won't allow it. After a few moments of the the clerk telling the customer no and giving him factual reasoning, Peyton Manning shows up. The use of ethos, pathos and logos in the ad seems to be an exceptional way of selling the product to the public.
Next , in a text by , Jennifer Sygo titled “Obey your thirst , just not necessarily with a sports drink”. In this text she explains that “For most workouts ,practices , sessions, or games , drinking water according to thirst is usually enough “(2) . Some people need more than water , they need something with flavor to actually quench their thirst . Whereas, in an article titled “powerade and the science hydration” . In this article it talks about Powerades ION4 where is states that “Powerade ION4 contains, four electrolytes -Sodium ,potassium, calcium and magnesium…” (1)
Every generation has that “one athlete” that defies all boundaries and expectations of their respected sport. The player that you pass down stories about to your children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren. The player that you appreciate how privileged you were to be able to watch them play day in and day out and grow with them throughout their careers. For most, these athletes have redefined every facet of the sport they associate with, and for millions of soccer fans around the world, Abby Wambach is the person that has become that athlete. Recently in the light of Wambach announcing her retirement from international soccer, Gatorade released a commercial that was felt around the world by millions. The commercial entitled, “Forget
Professional athletes have a tremendous influence on youth and society, largely because almost everyone looks up to them from toddlers to senior citizens, but in one way or another; everyone is influenced by professional athletes. Some think that athletes should be able to live their lives however they please, not worrying about how their actions may affect other people; however, it is important for athletes to understand that many people are watching them and that their actions do have large impacts on society. Professional athletes’ image affects today’s society and youth because they influence drug use, attitude on and off the field, and contribution to the community.
Powerade will contain the most electrolytes as millions of Rands are spent on engineering these drinks to rehydrate athletes as effectively as possible.
Gatorade was founded in the summer of 1965 when a University of Florida assistant coach sat down with a team of physicians to determine why so many players were being affected by the heat and its illnesses. Two key factors were determined by the group of researchers: the fluids and electrolytes lost were not being replaced, and the large amounts of carbohydrates used for energy were not being replenished. The researchers went to the lab and formulated a balanced carbohydrate – electrolyte drink that would replace the key factors the Gator players lost through practice and games. That is how the name ‘Gatorade’ came to be. This commercial has a strong ethos, pathos and logos with professional athletes and voice overs of ethos, music, visuals
Professional athletes are huge role models in society. Everyone who plays sports can not expect to make it professionally. It takes a great deal of hard work and dedication. People overlook athletes because they do not work at an average job, at a computer, or even at an office. They play sports and get paid for it. People think it is easy to just play a sport and be good at it, but it actually takes various amounts of time and hard work. Sometimes going to college and playing sports takes more effort than earning a college degree. Professional athletes deserve all the money they earn because of their role model status in society, their short career windows, and how their talent pulls in the paying fans.
The Coca Cola company is known as one of the world’s largest carbonated soft drinks company that began before World War II. It is an American-based company found in 1886 by an Atlanta pharmacist. Dr. John S. Pemberton created the formula of French Wine Coca, which is known as Coca Cola now and introduced the carbonated soft drink as a patent medicine at first. The beverage became more noticeable when Frank M. Robison, Dr. Pemberton’s partner changed the product name and created the famous script logo, which he believed that will attract customer in advertising. The marketing phenomenon grew even bigger when the small company was bought over by Asa Griggs Candler prior of the founder’s death in 1888. Candler 's decision was what made the Coca Cola Company so successful today due to his interest and aggressiveness in marketing this product. Over the years, Coca Cola had faced many challenges in finding its identity in packing until the
The principles of using acid catalyzed carbohydrate dehydration as a quantifier was sufficiently communicated, and the possible sources of error that resulted in a relatively inaccurate determination of the total carbohydrate concentration in the soda and Gatorade will be taken into consideration if conducting this analysis in the
