Not long after I viewed another similar situation. Two people who looked to be in their thirties and be a couple did the same thing as the large group. They ran to the middle of the road to wait to cross. You could see that drivers were getting frustrated. One woman in particular who appeared to be in her fifties honked her horn. I believe the stress of people being in the road as well as it being dark fueled her frustration. I believe many people driving during this time felt frustration, but these two incidents in particular stuck out to me.
The data I collected was good data in my opinion. One of my theories was that gender is connected to aggressive driving. I feel that after doing my observations gender was not really related to aggression.

The information I collected for my literature review stated that younger drivers under the age of forty were more likely to be aggressive when driving. I did see some older drivers (fifty and up) getting aggressive while driving, but the large majority of the people I viewed that were getting aggressive or angry were between the ages of twenty and thirty-five. I do believe that my findings were enough to say that there is a link between aggression, and age. I did find that traffic seemed to annoy people. I did not think it necessarily made them aggressive. During my observations I viewed people honking horns as well as throwing their hands up, not allowing people to merge, but I did not see any other kinds of aggressive driving. I think this is because when you are stuck n traffic it is hard to do anything because you cannot go anywhere. I did not collect enough data to say that there was a link between these two …show more content…
It was much more hands on then just doing research on my computer so I enjoyed it. It was good to get out, and view what the data said for myself. Doing research behind a computer can get boring so I enjoyed doing it in person because I did not know what was going to happen. I believe my idea about what was going to happen was pretty accurate I did know that if I went during the times I did that people would be angry driving.
I do not feel like I was out there long enough to a clear observation. I know that it is hard to do more then ten hours for a class like this, but I feel if my observation were longer I would have had a more clear understanding. I also feel if I would have went to the same location multiple days I may have got better results, but I wanted to go to multiple locations and see what the change would be. I do believe it was good to go to different areas because I saw things at Van Andel arena that I did not see down by the bridge on Pearl
I also love the fact that I can print the handouts and study them at any given time. The journal articles are great as well it provide a great deal of understanding for me because they go into details that help feel missing pieces of the puzzle that I may not understand through video lectures, handouts, audio or the class discussions. I look forward to the weekly quizzes because each week there is an interesting topic to read, write or think about. I feel assured that I am being provide with a number of tools that can help me succeed. Basically, all of these tools can help guide me through the process of completing the referral letter and psychological report exercise.
Teen drivers are involved in twelve percent of fatal vehicle crashes. Sixteen year old drivers are twenty times more likely to have a vehicle wreck. Teenagers usually tend to take more risks because of their emotions, stress, and peer pressure in their life. Older drivers learn how to break or ignore the pressures of life by adapting to them when driving. Some people believe that the driving age should not be raised from sixteen to eighteen.
“Slow response time, loss of clarity in vision and hearing, loss of muscle strength and flexibility, drowsiness due to medications, and a reduction in the ability to focus or concentrate” are all effects of aging identified in Westport News’s March 2010 article “Should elderly drivers be retested?” 2. Although some older drivers try to make up for these disabilities by driving more cautious, driving below the speed limit can cause more dangers. B. Cause 2: The trend of increases in fatal accidents involving elderly people is partially due to an increased susceptibility to injury and medical complications within this age group. Transition 3: While car accidents involving the elderly is a widespread issue, there are multiple solutions that can be implemented to reduce the likelihood of this occurring.
Even though motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for 15-20 year olds, the minimum driving age should not be raised. Driving restrictions placed on young drivers only delay fatal crashes, and studies show that recklessness is not the cause for most teen collisions; it is simple mistakes. When teens begin driving, they enter the graduated licensing program that imposes certain restrictions which lessen as the drivers become older and more experienced. A nationwide study shows that these laws have reduced fatal crashes amongst 16-year olds but increased fatalities amongst 18-year olds.
Everyone has been a witness to an individual driving horrendously; whether its running a stop sign or cutting someone off. The worst issues seen today from terrible drivers are running red lights/stop signs, texting and driving, and not understanding how to merge into other lanes. People are getting injured and killed by bad drivers because of accidents they cause. Awful drivers are obviously the only ones in the world. They cause bad traffic build up which makes traffic never end.
Aggression inside women has been their survival strategy and they used their aggression as an instrument to achieve their goal and to gain control over their lives and situation. These women used their aggression to attain freedom, equality and justice, leading them towards empowerment. Empowerment and aggression are two sides of the same coin. Loss of control, helplessness causes aggression and attaining control, power to take decision is empowerment. Empowerment means gaining control over live.
Severe forms of road rage include threats, physical, confrontation, and murder. Aggressive drivers are compromising the safety of public transportation. Certain conditions, such as rush hour traffic or construction, can exacerbate road rage in people who misdirect their anger at others. Drivers of all ages and gender commit road rage. Studies
Introduction I. I. According to the American Automobile Association, about 8 % of teenagers drive, and are involved about 15% of fatal crashes. II. Traffic crashes is one of reason causes death and injury for young ages from 15 to 19.
Fieldwork Observation Reflection The fieldwork observation was the most difficult part of this course. I first attempted to observe Target for a team lead position, but their human resources department denied my request. Then I called two branches of my own company, Securitas, left messages with two different receptionists to have human resources call me, and waited for their return call. Not surprisingly, my company did not return my call.
When you’re running late you tend to go faster than you normally would trying to get where you’re going on time. A lot of younger people just love the feeling when speeding, it gives them a rush. There are many other causes of speeding besides the two mentioned, such as an emergency. When an emergency comes up most people don’t think clearly and juts want to get to where they’re going so speeding seems to be their option.
The fact of the matter is learning to drive is not as simple as some might like. Not everybody is a natural when it comes to driving the car. Add to that, the level of traffic which includes other road users such as pedestrians and cyclists as well as drivers of large vehicles. Then add to that difficult driving conditions such as narrow roads with lots of traffic as well as challenging junctions such as roundabouts and crossroads. So taking all that into account, it’s no wonder that some people can struggle to handle what’s going on on the outside of the car let alone what’s going on on the inside.
In the article “Everyday Aggression Takes Many Forms” the researchers conducted an experiment to see how aggression affects people’s everyday lives. People from different age groups were used to answer many questions pertaining to aggression and conflict. This experiment talks about what aggression is, the types of aggression, and the people affected by aggression. The researchers started this experiment by explaining the meaning of aggression and how it is sometimes misunderstood with the word assertiveness.
A fundamental part of our being is our inner sense of self-identification. However, our upbringing within a certain society influences how we perceive our gender roles, appearance and behavior, therefore, producing genderlects. When interacting with others, individuals accommodate their speech towards the style or genderlect of the other participants, e.g. single-gender groups. Additionally, important aspects, such as politeness and appropriateness, are relevant factors to acquire acceptance and are visible in boys´ and girls´ genderlects. It may even affect their choice of aggression, indirect or direct.
Second important factor could be a cause of car accident is speed, Exceeding speed limit causes a series car accidents can lead to death, with exceeding speed the driver lose control of his car and then occurs an accidents. People should understand that speeding not going to save much time for them, instead; they will increase the danger to themselves. Over speeding is against the law and many people are selfish in respect that they find the speed ticket is irritating. People exceed speed for many reasons such as being late, show off, or for fun, they put their own lives and other people lives at risk.
I loved working at my site because the students were really nice and the teacher was also very easy going. During my work here I was not only just able to help them but it was also a great learning experience
