The aim of this essay is to address the key principles involved in delivering person-centred care and to explore issues that have to be taken into consideration, this includes protection of people that may be susceptible to poor care and safeguarding issues. Other key aspects that will be discussed are, the skills required to maintain and promote the principles of person-centred care such as working in a multidisciplinary team and interpersonal skills and how these skills can be applied into practice.
As an integral part of the healthcare team, nursing has evolved tremendously. In Nurse of the Future Nursing Core Competencies a picture was painted of what the future of nursing looks like. From my own opinion I do feel that a reform or evolution in nursing education is required to create competent nurses of the future. Current nursing school programs are academic heavy with an emphasis on skills. While growing competency in clinical skills is necessary, there is much more to the future of nursing than being highly skilled. It is time to distinguish not just skills, but characteristics of a successful nurse of the future. This is a nurse who will be well rounded with the tools and resources to help guide healthcare and the patient experience

Whenever I received complaints, the problem is that the subordinates usually deny or come up with some explanations making it difficult to discuss it in a genuine manner. Sometimes even if we reprimand them for their mistakes it creates a very tense environment in the hospital and it also affects the quality of work. Also I need to find times to handle complaints patiently or else the situation gets angered and gets further complicated.

There is a controversial issue in regards to the violation of the HIPAA privacy rule concerning a client who was received at a small town hospital emergency rule. As a privacy officer, this issue has been bought to my attention. HIPPA violations are serious offenses, and ultimately, it is my responsibility to take corrective actions to resolve this matter upon this investigation.
It is vital for health care providers to incorporate a person’s specific cultural elements to provide patients with the same ideal care that is provided to everyone (Kodjo, 2009). These values consist of altruism, autonomy, human dignity, integrity and social justice (Taylor 96). Beginning with the professional value of Altruism, the believe in or practice and self concern for the well-being of others (96). I believe that in order to be the best nurse you can be for your patients, you must understand the concept of altruism. I had spoken to a 20 year-old female that had come into work today, which I work at a health clinic at a university. I asked her why she came in today, and she said she wants to be tested for gonorrhea. She said she is currently not sexually active due to her boyfriend living out of state attending a different university. The couple has been dating for 4 years now, but was on and off the firs two years of college. During the time the couple was on and off, both of them had sexual intercourse with other people. Although she may have a different partner(s) while at school, she had not had sexual intercourse with anyone else the last two years. Cultural diversity can affect the workplace in numerous ways. Negative impacts can include miscommunication, creation of barriers, and dysfunctional adaptation behaviors. Positive impacts can include building a sound knowledge base fellow colleagues, which can make for smoother integration of the organization into foreign cultures.

Nurses should adopt the ethical principle of deontology and promote good, not harm. There is a binding duty for nurses based on morality. Moreover, there is a strong emphasis of the moral importance of cultivating virtuous character traits such as empathy and compassion in nurses. As virtue ethics are inculcated in medical and nursing students, they ought to have an ethic of care, without biasness, when carrying out treatment plan for all patients (Staunton & Chiarella, 2017).
