What is womenonics, and why is this an important term to discuss in Jordan’s employment of female workers? Womenomics is a term that was originated by the Prime minister of Japan, Prime Minister Abe. Womenomics is used to describe the economic contributions of women and the roles taken on by women in society. Many nations around the world view women in the workplace as unacceptable fearing that women will not handle both work and the traditional roles of marriage and family rearing while maintaining a job. Some 95 percent of female adults are literate, and more Jordanian women attend university than men. Despite these advantages, fewer than 16 percent of Jordanian women are employed or looking for a job” (“Why Is Jordan”, 2016). These statements prove that Jordan is aware of the importance of education, equality and the quest to improve its economic standing in the world. The ruling class specifically Queen Raina, has been vocal about the objective to equalize the economic opportunities in Jordan. (“Why Is Jordan”, 2016) Womenomics relates closely to this misuse of women in the work force in Jordan. Women have been marginalized and discouraged from working due to traditions in Jordan’s society as well as the ideals solely of the males in the families in Jordan. It would be helpful if this was not the determining factor for the lives of women in Jordan. Women should be seen as free and equal citizens in Jordan. That would be the first step toward change. This would allow women the freedom of choice to determine for themselves how to live their lives. There can be no equality if the choices for women are determined by men. The educational system needs to be improved overall to better prepare the people of Jordan to better their circumstances. This would include more positive ideas put in place for females that choose to later enter the workforce. This would enlighten the minds to the idea that women are capable of making choices as well as maintaining a family and work life. Better opportunities need to be provided for women that choose to enter the workforce. They can even place jobs into their work system geared toward time frames that are looked upon by the people as suitable for women to be a part of the workforce and not interfere with family life. Women should be allowed to have ownership of their finances and property to increase the family well-being. All of which stems from allowing women equal rights in society in
Women’s place and role in the society is something that has been discussed and changed over time. Should their rights be the same as men’s? Should they be superior? Inferior? The world faces a dilemma on weather they should be or not equal as men.
The Equal Rights Amendment was a movement created by women after World War II who wanted to stand up for women equality. The Equal Rights Amendment is attended to create all people, regardless of gender, equal. It was first introduced in 1923, but was finally approved by Congress. Although, it failed to be ratified due to not accomplishing the 38 required votes by the US states by the 1982 deadline. Since then, the Equal Rights Amendment is still a topic today because there has been a rise on the topic of gender equality and feminism.
In today’s world, it seems to be that women have the same rights as men, but it wasn't always this way. The speech “Women’s Rights to Suffrage” by Susan B Anthony is the most compelling of all. Susan B Anthony persuades the audience that all women should have the same rights as men. It’s shown through the speech that the federal constitution says “we the people”, the government has no right to take away rights from just one gender, and that women are considered people as well. The fact that the constitution says “we the people” is a primary point in this speech.
Gender Stratification in The Workplace Over the years, women have fought their way through the various barriers thrown at them by society, they are now more educated, matching male participation rates in the labour force and they are seen to create more opportunities for themselves in the workplace. Ewan Pearson - Discursive Essay The debate about women being treated as equals in the workplace has been a continuous issue for a number of years now. Women are constantly proving themselves to be an asset to the world of work, but still have to campaign and fight for equality. Could men really cope without women within the workplace? Could Adam have coped without Eve? Women are continually showing themselves to be more than capable.
Women should request a twenty percent pay increase to even up the gender pay gap. In most jobs women earn eighty cents for every dollar a man earns for the exact same job. Employers should pay good, qualified women, who can competently perform their job duties, the same wages they pay men for the same work. Earning twenty percent less is a significant amount and it adds up over time. Throughout the years the pay gap has narrowed but it’s still not equal pay for equal work.
Equality among people justifies the development of human civilization. The history witnesses how people mistreated the others and how other people fought for freedom. It proves a permanent truth that the more civilized the people are, the less inequality would be promoted. However, there was no one period in the past, even now, without inequality completely. The slavery issue in the West and the gender inequality in the East both brought unimaginable damage for not only the groups of people who were mistreated, but also the society which is supposed to be peaceful, fair and justice.

Liberal feminists argue that women have the same capacity as men for moral reasoning and work habits, but that patriarchy, particularly the sexist division of labor, has historically denied women the opportunity to express and practice this reasoning. These dynamics serve to shove women into the private sphere of the household and to exclude them from full participation in public life. Hence, gender inequality is a hazard not only to the highly capable, talented and deserving women but also to the economy as a whole. Wage Wars Protecting our basic civil rights in the United States is a recognizable value that all citizens want to obey or carry out. Civil rights are rooted on the idea of any citizen not receiving equal or fair treatment compared to the people around them. Although this is true, a major issue in today’s society that I have discovered revolves around the difference in gender equality and the gender wage gap in the workforce.
