Heritability is how we get traits from our parents and grandparents and the ones before them. Heritability deals with how we look and how are cells make us look. When are parents make us we get Dna from them that tell the cells how we will look when we are older and how we look when we are young. We get all of this from our Dna and chromosomes and it will either tell us if we have freckles or not. A purebred is a one single type of dog breed like he German Shepard is a type of dog breed. If a German Shepherd is to mate with another dog bred then it is not a purebred anymore. Many purebred as today are expensive since that the dogs have mixed with many other dogs that have already mixed with other breeds. The offspring off the dogs will not be purebred but the one dog that matted and had the offspring is still considered purebred due to that it wasn 't born with different breeds of dogs in its blood. GMO's are genetically altered organisms made by scientists. By altering the organisms' genetics it could change its size, color, taste, and physical appearance. A GMO is meant to be stronger, better and simply more effective than past generations that haven't been altered. They are more capable of adapting and surviving new environments they wouldn't naturally be able to. For example crops can be made pest resistant, sweeter, bigger, be able to grow faster, be able to grow under any type of conditions rather than having to wait for certain season to get that certain type of crop and even be the new 'edible vaccines'(Scientific American Inc).

Health in selectively bred dogs is the top concern when dealing with ethics, due to the fact that in many cases lives are cut short and the quality of life is viewed as, to many, not worth living, which is seen as unfair to the dogs in an ethical viewpoint. From dog show judges to veterinarians, there are many known diseases in dogs that is the product of selective breeding, and although there have been attempt to fix these errors, the topic is still ongoing as hip dysplasia, breathing issues, and cardiac problems are still prevalent in certain purebreds.

Begley is a professional science writer who was born in the United States and graduated from Yale University, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1977. The article discussed whether people should consist the belief of personality is immutable and decided by the genes that we born with.
