Genting Berhad was known as Multinational Corporation, which began the empire from humble beginnings in 1965. Genting Berhad had voted as Malaysian’s Leading Corporation and one of Asia’s Best Managed Multinational. The successful story behind Genting Berhad to some extent influenced by the achievement from the management team of the company; there were eight members of Board of Director.

Genting Berhad was found by the late of Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong. Currently, Genting Berhad currently is headed by Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay (Malaysian, aged 6), he appointed as director on 1976 before officially appointed as Chairman and Chief Executive on 2007. He graduated from Harvard University on 1979 with Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering under Programme for Management Development of Harvard Business School. He was the Visiting Professor in Imperial College London and Honorary Professor of Xiamen University. Since 1976, he served in various positions either in Malaysia or foreign companies. Namely, the Chief Executive and Director of Genting Plantations Berhad, Genting Singapore and uk PLC and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Genting Hong Kong. Due to his commitment since 1976, he won several international awards, such as Lifetime Achievement Award for Corporate Philanthropy 2013 and Asian Leader for Global Leisure and Entertainment Tourism 2011.
