George Boole
Who was George Boole?
And what relationship did he had with symbolic logic?
He was a British mathematician, creator of a new system of logic calculation who later would be called Boolean algebra. This system, in which propositions are reduced to symbols on which can be operated mathematically represented a major advance in the development of logic and over a century later he would find a formidable and unsuspected field of application in information and microprocessors, whose operation was based on the binary logic of Boole. He was member of a not economically stable family. Boole had to exclude his intention to become a monk when he was forced to support his parents. At sixteen he taught mathematics in a private school and

The elements of Boolean algebra are a set of propositions, which means, facts expressed by natural language sentences. Such propositions have the right to be true or false. At the same time, and regardless of whether they are true or false, every proposition has its complementary proposition, which is nothing but the denial of it: the denial of the proposition P is the complementary proposition P. The consequences of these propositions can be discovered by performing mathematical operations on the symbols that represent them. The two basic operations are the conjunction and disjunction. The rules of Boolean algebra can be used to determine the consequences of the various combinations of these propositions depending on whether the statements are true or false. Two elements of Boolean algebra makes it a very important mathematical form for practical application. First, the propositions expressed in everyday language (like "I 'll be at home today") can become math expressions such as letters and numbers. Second, those symbols generally have one or two values: the propositions may be affirmative or negative. Operation can be a conjunction or a disjunction; and not only propositions, but also the result of combinations, are true or false. This means they can be expressed by a binary system: true or false; Yes or no. The binary mathematical system is a numerical system mostly used in computers. Computerized systems consist of magnetic cores that can be started or stopped; the numbers 0 and 1 are used to represent the two possible states of a magnetic core. The methods of logical calculation of Boolean algebra have come to constitute the "intelligence" of many everyday objects such as engineers design circuits for personal computers, calculators, CD players, phones and a lot of other types of electronic products, but do not enable them
Logical is an expression that either calculates the TRUE or FALSE. If will return TRUE if the expression is FALSE
2. Sometimes a very complex set of gates can be simplified to save on cost and make faster circuits. A way to do that is through boolean identities. Boolean identities are quick rules that allow you to simplify boolean expressions. To implement these identities, Boolean algebra is used.
So, above, where we talked through w to write a “while” loop, you see where we put “condition that the loop continues”? What goes in here is what we call a Bool- ean expression. All that means is a question that can be answered with a TRUE or a FALSE re- sponse. Let’s say that you wanted to put that your age is the same as that of the person sat next to you. Here is what you would type:
We characterize the points of confinement of an interim by utilizing diverse sorts of parentheses and notations which demonstrates the barring and including of numbers. Inequality: Inequality lets us know about the relative size of two qualities. When we need to realize that something is greater or littler then we utilize inequalities. Absolute value: All the values which could not expressed in negative conditions and we have to convert it into positive like (area, volume and distance etc) are called absolute value, or we can say absolute value is the modulus.
The stating of the words “precise, rational, reliable, true” without conjunctions emphasizes each word’s importance for Richard. He views math as something with a correct and true answer, something
Chapter 5: Logical proofs teaches you about the different types of reasoning and examples
"Give me a place to stand, and I will move the world," Archimedes once said. Archimedes lived in ancient Greece, from 287-212 BC. He was born in Syracuse, Italy, to a small family. Cousin of King Hieron III, and son of Phidias, Archimedes was very popular. He was skilled in many fields, including mathematics, physics, inventing, and astronomy.
Policing the poor by Neil Websdale, mainly focuses on the “Power Control Wheel” describing the power black men have over women living in Nashville. Websdale argues the “Power Control Wheel” has been an explanation why domestic violence has occurred frequently among African American women and men. Websdale historically ties the domestic violence from women and their partners with the enslavements of African Americans and their white plantation owners explaining the “Power Control Wheel”. Websdale mentions how women continually to let the “Power Control Wheel” be overrun by men because of the fear of not being able to receive a stable income, illegally activities that are performed, satisfying drug addictions and the black kinship (132). According to Websdale, the Black Kinship system is a cultural legacy giving women a reason not to

On November 6th, 2015 at approximately 1830 hours I, Investigator James Poffel was the on-call investigator and contacted by Officer Garrett Dunlap, regarding him being dispatched to 1517 Baltimore St in reference to a sexual assault report. The sexual assault was said to have occurred approximately two weeks prior. Officer Dunlap informed me he arrived on scene and spoke with the victim, Elia Ramirez and her mother, Marcela Ramirez. Elia informed Officer Dunlap that she works at the Sonic, located at York and Chandler. She informed him approximately two weeks ago, while she was at work, she took her lunch break.
Mr. Bo Diddley was born December 28, 1928 in McComb, Mississippi under the name Ellas Otha Bates but changed as a child to Ellas McDaniel. He was known as an R&B and Chicago Blues singer and guitarist. He was nicknamed The Originator because of his key role in the transition from the blues to rock and roll, and rock, and influenced a host of acts. On November 20, 1955, Bo Diddley appeared on the popular Ed Sullivan TV show. The show asked him to sing "Sixteen Tons", but instead he sang "Bo Diddley".
Also , one of the most important invention in that time is the invention of an adding machine that has been created by a Frenchmen by the name of Blaise Pascal. The adding machine is a type of mechanical machine that have been usually used for bookkeeping. Blaise Pascal , the inventor, is physicist, mathematician, inventor, writer and a Christian philosopher. He was a child prodigy who was educated by his father, and his father was a tax collector in Rouen (port in Northern
Playing a practical joke on a friend can be quite amusing and humorous. So upon reading this article, I was particularly interested in the fact that a journalist with a Ph.D. was essentially playing a practical joke on today’s media. Granted, the moral of John Bohannon’s experiment was more than just some easy laughs and amusement. He manipulated both the scientific process and the journalist’s that published his findings. In regards to manipulation, Bohannon starts right from the beginning.
Having the knowledge and basic skills of mathematics enables a person to make personal and economic decisions in everyday life. A person can still succeed without achieving
