On November 10, 1917 Patton was placed in charge of the American Tank Service and was being ordered to start an American tank school after he completed his training on tanks. Tanks were a new weapon and had not really been tested but Patton believed that his chances of being promoted higher would best be with tanks. “On August 24, 1918 Patton officially organized the 304th Tank Brigade.” Patton was unlike any other Leader in this war. Captain Patton with his staff would press forward on foot with the advancement of his tank brigade. On September 11, 1918 Patton gave one of his motivating speeches to his troops which he will become well known for. Then on September 26, 1918 Patton gave orders to his tank brigade to advance during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive in France. During this battle Patton and six other men advanced on the enemy lines ahead of his tank brigade. Out of the six men five were wounded or killed. Patton was one of the men that had been wounded. A round had entered thru his left thigh and exited near his ass causing him to start losing a large amount of blood. The other soldier that had come unwounded in the advanced bandaged Patton’s wound up and wanted to try and get him back to safety but Patton refused. Patton made the soldier run back to the tank brigade and give the position of the German machine gun nest.
Then he tried to sell West Point to the British so that he could get a ton of money. Then he became a traitor by joining the British because they figured out his plan to sell west point for the money. He gave the british command to go to at least seven small battles. Then he got ignored for at least seven promotions because of trust issues. Then the british ended up surrendering to the American Army soon after because of his

He had a great love for football, he even coached once for a school team. Many Americans voted Dwight the most admired, respected and popular man in the country. People were impressed by Eisenhower making it to the top of his class at West Point and graduating as a Second Lieutenant.
Jefferson peaked his head above cover and aimed his rifle at the advancing suicide bomber. Sgt. Jefferson took a long, deep breath and then took the shot. The bomber fell face down int he dirt. Jefferson ducked back behind cover and let out a sigh of relief.
He and the tank crew were being bombarded by a German mm - 88; the mm - 88 was on a ridge making it impossible for the tank cannon to even to hit it, because it was so high up. So Bill had thought of a plan to dig up under the tank making it so the tank would lift up and have enough leverage to hit the artillery. As Bill and Thomas had gotten out of the tank, he had never thought it would’ve worked because they would be hit before they even finished digging. In spite of that, a half dozen American soldiers had been hiding behind the tank for cover. One of the soldiers was Dee.
After all of the paperwork was filled out, Tony was transported to a military base on the coast of North Carolina. There, he spent day after day training in boot camp for three months to prepare for an attack the U.S was planning on Normandy. He also made a friend named Thomas. Thomas would lift Tony up when he was down and helped Tony get through all of the different and difficult tasks that would train him to fight in World War II. Tony and Thomas endured hours of running, swimming and target practice with very few breaks in between.
The academic struggles that had once haunted him years ago returned. He was enraged that his grades remained lackluster despite his vigorous study habits. With his indifference towards mathematics, Patton put emphasis on military subjects, sports, and his own self-discipline (Sweeny 65). Patton was a young man with tremendous pride so he let his failures hurt his confidence. With his failures
General Douglas Macarthur is one of the most prominent, notable and influential leaders in the history of the United States and the United States Army. “He was a thundering paradox of a man, noble and ignoble, inspiring and outrageous, arrogant and shy, the best of me and the worst of men…(Muller).” He was a patriot who served in World War I, World War II, the Korean War and numerous other military campaigns in between. Throughout his tenure, he would fill a plethora of duty positions all around the world. He was a trail blazer; a leader who was admired for his relentless tactics and leadership skills.
General Patton, in the Battle of the Bulge exercised the principles of mission command to the fullest and they yielded significantly great results for the Allied forces. General Patton employed each of the principles in different ways in order to ensure that the German surprise attack did not significantly set back the Allied forces in the war. The exercise of mission command allows a commander to conduct military operations and missions through dispersed execution. According to Army Doctrine Publication (ADP) 6-0, Mission Command, the definition of mission command is “the exercise of authority and direction by the commander using mission orders to enable disciplined initiative within the commander’s intent to empower agile and adaptive leaders in the conduct of unified land operations”. General Patton exhibited four of the mission command principles extremely well during the Battle of the Bulge.
From the very beginning of his life General Patton knew that someday he wanted to be a military leader. As a young boy he took a huge interest in anything related to the military. For example, when his father would have army friends over he would beg them to tell him war stories. General Patton was so involved in the military that by the age of seven he was reading advanced military maps. By the age of ten people started to not General Patton was doing very poor in school and although it was probably because he was paying so much attention to military aspects his parents decided to place him in a private school.
Patton had a huge impact in World War I and World War II by using the newly discovered tank warfare tactics. Because of his new tactics, the battlefield has been greatly affected to this day. Because tanks were a recent invention, he was one of the first people to use his knowledge of tanks to create battle plans. Some people dislike Patton because

He wanted them to not be afraid, and focus on what they where there to do, protect their homes and families that they love so much. All though the soldiers where scared and uncertain, Patton gave them words of encouragement to help them get the job done. General Patton’s speech brings up a lot of ideas that I think are really important. Things like; death, family, freedom, choices, unity, and doing things for the good of man. In his speech he relates these things directly to war.
Educated at West Point, George S. Patton (1885-1945) began his military career leading cavalry troops against Mexican forces and became the first officer assigned to the new U.S. Army Tank Corps during World War I. Promoted through the ranks over the next several decades, he reached the high point of his career during World War II, when he led the U.S. 7th Army in its invasion of Sicily and swept across northern France at the head of the 3rd Army in the summer of 1944. Late that same year, Patton’s forces played a key role in defeating the German counterattack in the Battle of the Bulge, after which he led them across the Rhine River and into Germany, capturing 10,000 miles of territory and liberating the country from the Nazi regime. He declared that his Soldiers must win at all costs and according to Harvey (2008), “100 tanks moved forward the following day and encircled 150,000 Germans, who admittedly, were not putting up much resistance” (p. 347).
