Gertrude is Hamlet’s mother and the Queen of Denmark. When King Hamlet is murdered by Claudius, she didn 't seem to daunt her and shortly thereafter got married to Hamlet 's Uncle Claudius. This gives a suspense in this point of the play because it makes the audience think about if Gertrude had anything to do with the murder of her husband or if she helped plan the murder with Claudius. When Gertrude married the person that killed her husband, Hamlet takes it personal and she basically loses her son because he 's so upset with her.
He was to the point where he thought it would just be easier to die than to live with all these struggles. Hamlet’s uncle Claudius killed his father which put a huge burden on his shoulders because he loved his father so much. What made it even worse was his mom, Gertrude, ended up marrying Claudius short after King Hamlet 's death. After the king was murdered, Hamlet saw his father’s “ghost” which told him that Claudius was in fact the one that killed him and that he wanted Hamlet to seek revenge for him by killing Claudius, but not to punish his mother for remarrying. He said it is not his place to do so and that heaven will judge her when it comes time.
Queen Gertrude makes it seem like the king meant nothing to her when she states that, “She disrespects the king by saying that it is common for everyone to die, instead of having an apathetic tone in her voice, as a normal widow would, she causes more conflict between her and Hamlet. This causes conflict because she is acting unconcerned, proving that she has moved on so easily and she proves this by marrying so soon after her husband’s death. Hamlet sees this as an act of betrayal, considering that Gertrude seemed unphased of his father’s death, and she traded a rich pure love for one that is poor and weak. The Ghost tells Hamlet, “ O Hamlet, what a falling off was there! [f]rom me, whose love was that of dignity that it went hand in hand even with vow I made to her in marriage, and to decline [u]pon a wretch whose natural gifts were poor [t]o those of mine.”
He was also the person who came up with juliet's fake death. He could of not helped her and on her own she could of figured a way out of the problems she got into herself. The first example of how Friar Lawrence is to blame is now he told Romeo that he would marry him and juliet in secret without telling anyone knowing that their families hated each other to death. In the play, Romeo told the friar that he was in love and that he wanted to marry. Romeo asked the friar
The new king was even too lazy to cover his own lies and protect himself, which causes much heartbreak in the end. The king kills his new wife because he was too lazy to kill young Hamlet himself(Act 5, scene 2, line 316). The king tried to get Laertes to kill Hamlet to protect himself. As a backup plan, he mixes a poison in hopes that Hamlet would drink it.
Afterwards, Gertrude announced Ophelia’s drowning as Ophelia was by the river. Since it was unsure whether Ophelia’s death was by accident or suicide, her funeral lacked many of the customary rites. Laertes dramatized his grief, which prompted Hamlet to reveal himself and declare his grief. After a small fight, they
Hamlet is not justified by treating Gertrude the way he did. Gertrude said that Hamlet has offended his new stepfather by the play that he put on (to find out if Claudius actually did kill the king). After Hamlet hears that his mother is not proud by the way he has been acting Hamlet just goes off on her. Hamlet then says that his mother has offended his real father (King Hamlet) and completely intimidates her. Then Hamlet accuses Gertrude of lustfulness and his mother starts crying and begs him to go.
As the play progressed many things started changing when both her father and brother demand her to stop seeing Hamlet. As things worsen up the manipulation plot developed and when Polonius died everything went down for Ophelia. Ophelia was just a muppet for Polonius, Hamlet, and Claudius that did not deserve to end in such a tragic manner. She always believe that Hamlet loved her as well as her father and was just the messenger to her both of them conquer what they really wanted. Ophelia’s dead was very tragic but did not deserved to die for the evilness the surrounded
