Girl With Oil Stick, also known as Words of Discomfort, is created around 2009 by the artist from Rhode Island, Bob Dilworth. Dilworth’s ingenuity in Girl With Oil Stick refers to the love that experienced him and the love that he experienced as an external spectator.
Girl With Oil Stick is a work on paper with utilizing of acrylic paint, newspapers, and oil sticks. Dilworth combines drawings and newspaper collages in this artwork which shows that his main focus is on the experiment with interrelation of technology and mixed media.
Since Dilworth did not have his own studio when he came in Providence to be an instructor at Brown University in 1992, he had to direct his artistic energy into the creation of manuscripts. Girl With Oil Stick’s

If all the letters are put together in words, the possible phrases could be either “he’d promised a…” or “she’d promised a…” Concerning this artwork, these promises could have a meaning of that a couple will be together forever and that both of the partners will bring stars from the heaven as well as their own all-embracing love to each other.
Moreover, Dilworth’s use of newspapers supplements Girl With Oil Stick with a texture. Since Girl With Oil Stick was created around 2009, the artwork is likely to be made of the newspapers of 2004 because one of the artwork’s newspapers on the top-left corner tells that Labor Day is Monday of September 6. The most close to the year of 2009 Mondays of September 6 were in 2004, 1999, 1993, 1982, 1976 etc.
In addition, Dilworth applies various meaningful colors to this artwork. Thus, for instance, dark blue symbolizes intangible mystery and deepness of candour. Black represents sadness and mortification. Moreover, dark blue covered by black implies the deepness of sorrow. Dark orange represents joyfulness and happiness, while red and blood red are the signs of love, power, expiative blood, and baptism of blood. Light blue symbolizes a purity and saintliness. When he entered inside the office, the man introduced himself to the employee as Harris Burdick and explained that he had an appointment. The employee led Mr. Burdick down a long hallway to the large door that read, “Peter Wenders.” Inside an old man with a white beard smiled and introduced himself as Peter Wenders, children’s book publisher. The blue represents truth and honesty that is always expected in the Payne family. The lightning bolt represents boldness, the boldness to do what we aspire and not be afraid. The color red represents bravery and courage, the courage to never back down from a
“I am for an art that is political-erotical-mystical,” Claes Oldenburg describes his artistic view, “that does something other than sit on it’s ass in a museum.” When observing Oldenburg’s piece, Giant Three-Way Plug, Scale A, it appears to simply depict an oversized electrical plug and thus contradict this grandiose statement. However, after incorporating the context in which this piece was made, one can see how it exemplifies the provocative nature of his work and the Pop Art movement. While the intention behind the 1960s movement of Pop Art is ambiguous, Oldenburg’s statement shows that his work is supposed to make the viewer question it. He elaborates on this statement, promoting art that is accessible to everyone, can originate from anywhere, and can incorporate absolutely everything.
In the wheel of color, the used yellow and green are analogous but complementary to the blue and red. Another beautiful example can be found in the woman holding a parasol. Her skirt exists of pink and orange yet it casts a blue

Not only does it represent the color of earth, wood, stone, wholesomeness, and more, at the time, everything I loved was brown, including chocolate, caramel, and The Viper, my favorite roller coaster at the time. According to BournCreative, “brown is believed to help create a wholesome feeling, a connection with the earth, and a sense of orderliness and convention. Brown is a stable and grounded color that is believed to help you feel like you fit in and belong”. However, as time went on, my current favorite color is the color blue. Not only does it represent trust and wisdom, it also displays beauty.
As I said previously that the red is the meaning of power and importance while the orange is used to symbolize the courage, strength, and endurance. The painting also had people in brown robes asking for assistance in the painting. Other colors that had have a certain meaning were green, black, purple, yellow, and white. Green was a interesting color to be used during the medieval period because the color green was referred to as love and joy and while that sounds wonderful the life of a peasant in the medieval period was not all that great. The color green was not used as much as it is later on in the years as it was during the that period.
The color black is a symbol for death and despair as well which can be connected to all of the terrible acts that have been committed with
The author may have simply wanted to state the description of the curtains without any further meaning to it. However, for the previous interpretation, the colour blue was associated with depression, due to a pattern created between the two. The person who made the interpretation may have been through depression and thus associated it with the colour blue – personal experience – or the colour may generally be associated with negative feelings due to a series of patterns created by others – shared patterns – or even that specific person simply perceives the colour blue to be linked with depression – patterns brought by intuition. On the contrary, in the author’s perception, the colour blue may have been a
In art, color is very personal and subjective, and gives different meaning to different people. However, in this Van Gogh piece, it is clear what the colors are used for. The blue found in the man’s overalls suggests uneasiness, melancholy and distress. Blue is unanimously associated with sorrow, and it is clear that in this piece, the subject is suffering immensely. The color is used to compliment the feelings the audience perceives from this artwork.

She works with monoprints, painting, photography, neon, fabric, found objects, installation, film and sculpture. She is thought to be Britain’s most controversial artist who explores emotion and intimacy through exhibiting the most private parts of her personality. Through this, she creates a sense of intimacy with her audience. She has made it her trademark to use private details in her work, such as exhibiting photos of a packet of cigarettes that her uncle was holding when he died in a car crash, her messy bed with alcohol bottles and stained sheets which is one of her famous works, and making a tent with the names of people she has been sexually intimate with sown into the fabric of the

‘Aesthetic Cosmopolitans’ “The increasingly international nature of the art world has resulted in many artists becoming aesthetic cosmopolitans” (pg.32), as stated by Storer, R (2013). The concept of ‘aesthetic cosmopolitanism’ aims to encapsulate the ability that artists of the 21st century have to create artwork that engages a connection with other cultures. “Cultures circulate more broadly and visibly” because multi-culturalism has become a part of everyday life. It has become easier to communicate and be aware of the issues that others around the world face. Art is a means of global communication because it breaks the language barrier between nations.
