On Saturday, October 7, 2017 Oakley Youth Development Center allowed the leaders and members of the Girlz Netwerk Organization to visit the facility. Oakley Youth Development Center is designed to house teenage girls and boys who have gone down the wrong path in life at an early age. The facility helps kids with getting their life back on track and something to look forward to. The day before Girlz Netwerk visited Oakley Youth Development Center the leaders and members shopped for personal items such as; shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, deodorant, and toothpaste to make care packages to give to kids at the center. There are several components of motivation in leadership of an organization. Nonprofit Motivational Style states that, “Nonprofit managers’ motivational styles fall into five different categories that vary in their relationships with their job satisfaction, job involvement, and pride working for the current organization, (Chen, pg. 17, 2014).” One of the theoretical foundation of motivation that applies to the contributions of empowering the Girlz Netwerk Non-Profit Organization goal setting. Observing the work of the leaders and members of Girlz Netwerk it was clear that setting goals and seeing them through is a priority for everyone. The organization has several goals to achieve through motivation and hard work. There are several areas of goal setting the leaders and members of Girlz Netwerk can work on to build the organization and create a lifetime experience molding the young girls into successful, educated, hard working professionals, mothers, and wives. Girlz Netwerk is off to a great start for the first official year of operation. One of their main goals is to teach the young girls how to participate in community service activities and help other individuals who are less fortunate or in need. One form of evidence that displays the organization achievements of some of their goals are the contributions and personal need items they provided the troubled teens at the Oakley Youth Development Center. Setting goals as mentioned earlier have several components such as goal specificity, goal difficulty, goal intensity, and goal commitment.
