I chose the life and career of Peyton Manning as my research paper. Peyton was born on March 24, 1976 in New Orleans, Louisiana. His parents are the already football star Archie Manning and his wife Olivia Peyton. So, Peyton was already born with a football in his hand so to speak. He improved his skills as a football player early on by practicing with his brother’s, dad, and childhood friends at an early age. Peyton’s passion for football he says was instilled in him by his father. He would listen to all his dad’s games at Ole Miss and New Orleans to study by. Like most in high school Peyton played football, baseball, and basketball. By Peyton’s sophomore year in high school he was talented enough to be the starting quarterback. His brother

Carmelo Kyam Anthony was born in Brooklyn, New York, 1984. He was the youngest of four children and was raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Anthony experienced a rough childhood. When he was just two years of age, his father Carmelo Iriarte, passed the way from liver failure. She particularly pushed Melo to be successful and stay ahead with his schoolwork. Anthony began playing basketball at a young age, but it wasn 't until he got cut from his high school team
One of the most favorite baseball players in history is Jackie Robinson. In 1947 Jackie Robinson started playing for the Brooklyn dodgers. Even though there wasn't a rule against African Americans playing Major League Baseball, he still received racial discrimination from the league and baseball fans. African Americans didn't have very many rights. Without a doubt he had to fight for all of his rights to be an equal individual. At the same he couldn't physically fight for what he wanted. He had to verbally speak his mind without violence. Which is an agreement he made with Branch Rickey to play for the Brooklyn Dodgers.

The book I, Rigoberta Menchu: an Indian Women in Guatemala, was a fascinating and visual aid to a reality people in the United States do not face. Readers are able to capture life lessons along with a background of herself and those around her. Being able to have a deeper understanding of this women and her people created a more intimate relationship with the reader. The book allowed one to understand how Rigoberto became to be the women she is currently, what she had to strive through in order to succeed, and finally how she was able to overcome those barriers.
