Antibiotic is a kind of medicine, which often used by doctors. As we know antibiotic can function as help human to cure for bacterial infections however if lack of safety tested before use as human, antibiotic may cause harmful. International drugmaker GlaxoSmithKline Plc (GSK) could face prosecution after a children’s antibiotic-Augmention on sale in Hong Kong, was found to be tainted with a plastic chemical. The Health Department tested the French-made powder version of Augmention and found it contained over two times of the permitted European limit of a chemical called Diisodecy1 phthalate (DIDP). DIDP generally is used for leather products and building materials. Also, the toxicity of DIDP is similar to DEHP. The spokesman of Health Department said that although there is insufficiency of evidence indicate that DIDP will cause harmful to human, tests for animals had found long-term consumption could affect the liver function and lead man shrink testicles and reduced sperm amounts. GSK should accept the evidence provided by Hong Kong Government, which is amount to DIDP exceeded two times of international standards. It should decide to recall all Augmention in Hong Kong market immediately regardless of costs factors, instead of recall it forced by Hong Kong government. GSK should consider the long-run benefit of company while it makes the marketing decision. The long-run benefit could include to maintain customer over positive brand reputation and to sustain customer by keeping promise with customer, which provide safety products of customer. In return for to increase revenue, brand images and maintain customer’ loyalty. GSK can make society become happier, which contribute by making the right marketing decision, which actively recall all Augmention in Hong Kong
