Several efforts have been made over recent years to maintain a safe and clean environment. However, environmental pollution is getting worst and poses a major threat to the Earth. Environmental pollution is “the contamination of the physical and biological components of the Earth to such an extent that normal environmental processes are adversely affected” (Kemp, 1998, p. 129). There are five known pollution which is in the form of air, water, land, noise and light (refer to Figure 1 in Appendix 1). The first type of pollution is air pollution.
Air pollution supports global warming which is a dangerous problem that is getting worse. Besides the effects that offshore drilling has on wildlife it also immensely affects global warming and the gases that are released from the rigs goes into the air that we breathe. Lombardo states, “No matter what personal stance on global warming may be, there is no denying that an offshore drilling rig produces an enormous amount of air pollution that can affect the shorelines” (n. pag.). Not only does do offshore drilling rigs pollute the air but they also pollute the oceans and create a deadly environment for marine life and reefs.
The air isn’t safe to breathe in certain areas. Global warming is responsible for all this. B. Thesis: The causes of global warming and climate change are because of increased emissions of greenhouse gases, and the effects of this are rising temperatures and more severe natural disasters. II. Body A.
6. The overall health effects of a changing climate are likely to be overwhelmingly negative. Climate change affects the fundamental requirements for health – clean air, safe drinking water, sufficient food and secure shelter. 7. High temperatures also raise the levels of ozone and other pollutants in the air that exacerbate cardiovascular and respiratory disease.
This is in more than one way that they are harming they cause air pollution: “ the fossil fuels used in energy, transportation, and synthetic pesticides/fertilizers emits 90 million tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere every year. On a lesser note, factory farming also releases harmful compounds like hydrogen sulfide and ammonia that can cause immediate negative health effects in humans”(5 Ways Factory Farming is Killing the Environment by Kate last name N/A). If the factory farming keeps going and keeps damaging our environment it could cause some really big issues because it will cause more depletion of the ozone layer. Another way that the factory farms are causing harm to our environment is by water pollution: “Industrial agriculture sucks up 70 percent of the world’s fresh water supplies. To follow up that staggering number, the EPA estimates that 75 percent of all water-quality problems in America’s rivers and streams.
Wastes that ends up in the landfill releases a significant amount of methane. Methane is one of the most powerful greenhouse gas emission and it’s worse than carbon dioxide. Food continues to pile up in the landfill creating a remarkable of 3.3 billion tons of greenhouse emission. The methane accelerating impacts climate change and global warming. Climate change can affect the world from wildfires to extreme weathers like hurricanes.
The consequences of global warming are extremely harsh seasons, untimely rains, extended summers and floods that results in human deaths, destruction of flora and fauna in addition to the huge economical losses. Although not much can be done to emission of GHGs from natural sources, but emission through human activities can be evaluated and corrective measures can be suggested so as to minimize them. Carbon footprinting is the measure
There are many problems that threatens society and one problem in particular, air pollution is a problem that threatens everyone. Air pollution is the contamination of air with pollutants that are harmful to humans, animals, and the environment. It began to be a problem when humans discovered the uses of fire and then the amount of air pollution exponentially grew after the industrial revolution, and is still a problem even today. The largest causes of air pollution are from human activities such as burning of fossil fuels and gas emissions from manufacturing plants. There are ways that ordinary people can help contribute to prevent air pollution and or else face the dangerous consequences of polluted air.
That change in the weather comes from the humans bad use that they burns the dirt and the dirt smoke comes out to the air and causes many problems. Also the factories smoke it is very dangerous because it may have chemicals in it that it causes the global warming that it may ends the world not just the humans life. That because as we all know that global warming had a bad rays that is not good for humans life it kill them. The x-red and ultraviolet it destroy everything because its change the genetic combinations of it. In a website there is an article the writer talks about"The harmful effects from exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation can be classified as acute or chronic.
Many scientists believe that our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases is having a heat effect on the atmosphere and this could be dangerous for the environment and human life (Hansen, 2011). This article will examine the causes of global warming, its impacts and the remedies we can do to combat global warming. Many problems could result from global warming. Increase
