a. Travelling with a lift club makes life so much simpler as costs are split amongst everyone in the car rather than coming from one person. Travelling to and from campus can also be made much quicker and easier with the help of information systems.

The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a piece of technology that has proved to be very useful amongst modern drivers. The GPS provides location and time of almost every area on earth. With the help of a GPS, the driver is able to get a proper route between places. Technology is constantly being upgraded and with the latest versions, users are now able to get directions from their current location to the required destination. The GPS and other navigators are able to provide more than one route to suite the user. Traffic is a major issue in the morning and there are alternate routes to take via Crossroads and Gugulethu yet those are very dangerous. In conclusion, using the GPS method, I have found the most reliable route to take. Even without a proper GPS fitted into the car, most smart phones or devices have their own navigating systems which can be used by students. An example of a navigating system most commonly used on devices is the Google Maps application.

One way of making travelling cheaper is depended on the mode of transport. As mentioned, travelling with a lift club works out much cheaper than if I had to drive myself. The type of car also has an effect especially since fuel prices aren’t cheap. It is more suitable to use a car with lower fuel consumption as I’d be travelling to and from campus five days a week. In my case, I have found that travelling with a VW Polo is by far cheaper than my mother’s BMW due to the fuel consumption of the two
