G9B Mary.Wang Individual & society Mr. Macdonald Global Warming Summit Speech Thank you, honorable chair. Good evening respectful delegates, your excellencies, ladies and gentleman, and distinguished guests. My name is Mary.Wang; I am the minister of People's Republic of China Ministry of Environmental Protection. This delegate is honored to stand before the house and denote feasible resolution. I am not speaking as an expert, but as a concerned citizen; one from 19.61 million people that lives in Beijing, speaking for billions of people out there in the world worrying and trying to find a solution about the global warming crisis. Global warming is a scientific term meaning the constant and gradual increase of temperature in the Earth's …show more content…
Now, I believe that global warming is bringing negative effect towards the world, and it accelerated the climate change, and it is continuing to cause dramatic fluctuation, this is a threat to us as human beings. Let’s take some serious problems that the global warming has caused: The melting sea ice in the Artic ocean that led to less platforms for the polar bears to hunt seals, resulted increase mortality of the polar bears. Another case will be the increase of droughts; it will bring famine (lack of crops), and results in limited supply of water, and animals will die because of the lack of plants. The climate experts projects that in 2100, the temperature will be at least 8 degrees warmer, even this small rise will have great consequences towards the whole ecosystem and living thing—including us. Above are all evidence and facts that are caused by global warming; I disagree with the thesis claiming that global warming is a hoax, apparently it is a serious problem that we need to draw more attention to, and to find the …show more content…
Global warming would cause severe weather problems to occur in a high rate, higher coral mortality, and higher sea levels. A lot of people has not yet realized we are worsening global warming everyday by just doing little things, people should draw more attention to this problem. By solving this problem, people could use electrical cars (less carbon dioxide released), eat less meat, and control the use electricity that is produced by coal. If we work together to build an eco-friendly society, reach a consensus on global warming, we could create a better
In Robert J. Liftoff’s article Our Changing Climate Mind-set, he proclaims to the audience that it’s only after 4 catastrophic hurricanes: Harvey, Irma, Jose, and Maria that people see the immediate sense of danger that climate change is causing. Even before the catastrophic hurricanes that devastated millions of people, there were a drumbeat of storms, floods, droughts and wildfires that should have been a clear indicator of climate change. Although there are those that reject the idea that climate change is the result of human devices, awareness has been ever increasing thanks to the many scientist and politicians that she be a topic more heavily discussed. Although this came from a writer that isn’t that well known, the material was published
Climate change is an irreversible consequence of the damage we do to our Earth. If we do not change our ways, the global temperature will swell, causing an unchangeable series of events, consecrating detriments onto all the existence upon Earth. In only about 140 years, the average global temperature has increased 0.8 degrees celsius, and the ramification is the irreparable destruction of the place where we and millions of other species live. The most important consequence of climate change is the global increase in temperature and how that is affecting various animal species all over the Earth, the health of humans, and the rapid rise of sea level.
By releasing this gas into the air the natural greenhouse gases increase and cause many effects to happen. Carbon dioxide is also caused by removing natural resources from the land for agriculture. When the Earth starts to warm many other things do to, the ocean will become more acidic and glaciers might partially melt. If the oceans become acidic, fish and other sea creatures will have an unlivable environment. If glaciers start to melt arctic animals that rely on the ice may start to become extinct.
Speech Outline I. Introduction A. Attention Grabber and Introduction Paragraph: The Earth is warming and places are burning. Water is rising, and cities are flooding. The air isn’t safe to breathe in certain areas. Global warming is responsible for all this.
Global warming is a big problem that we have to face nowadays. If you search Google for the word “global warming’, you will get over 70 million pages of results. The subject has certainly drawn a lot of attention. And now I will talk more about “what is global warming” , the cause and the effects it has on the earth and also some possible solutions for this problem.
Name: Khalid Albaiji Section: SC135 TOPIC: Global Warming GENERAL PURPOSE: To Persuade SPECIFIC PURPOSE: To persuade my audience to aware them about the harmful effects of Global Warming and encourage the audience to help make a difference to stop global warming.
Global warming can cause many changes in our environment. Polar ice caps can start to melt which can cause rising sea levels and can easily lead to coastal flooding on the eastern seaboard. There can also be affects on the types of storms that can occur if global warming continues. Scientists say that category three storms can turn into a more dangerous category fours. Farms and cities will face new pests, heatwaves, heavy downpours, and increased flooding.
A large population especially those residing near the coastal area would become homeless. Some people would have access to luxuries of life while the rest of the people would have to fight for the basic human necessities for their families. This un-equality would result in increased crime rate in society. All in all, the humanity would face a tremendous disaster if the necessary measures are not taken in order to control the activities causing global warming. As well as, there should be a struggle to counterbalance its effects.
When large storms hit land with these increased sea levels it causes large storm surges that can destroy anything in its paths. If temperatures continue to rise other natural disasters could occur ("Global Warming Will Produce More Katrina-Like Storms"). A warmer wetter atmosphere could spawn more tropical storms and there will be floods in places that do not get much rainfall. Humans could prevent these problems if they were to cut down on the use of fossil fuels and use more renewable energy. Renewable energy consists of wind, solar, and lunar power.
Climate Change is one of the most unsettling problems mankind faces today. It leaves an impact on every single living thing, on every continent, no matter the privilege. Long term investment must be used to change the world. People must do more than just change out their light bulbs for eco-friendly ones, or drive fuel efficient cars. A choice as simple as changing our diets could reduce a human’s carbon footprint by fifty percent.
Climate Change is something that we have caused because of our choices to burn fossil fuels, at some point we have to face the problems that we have created. The consequences of Climate Change are horrific and Climate Change could end our existence as a species, most people do take action against Climate Change except, The Government of the United States of America, refuses to accept the serious dangers of climate change and continues releasing propaganda on Climate Change, claiming its effects are minimal and that we are not causing it. Peculiar how almost every other government in the world thinks otherwise. The reasons we are heading in the wrong direction is because the actions of humans are causing Climate Change, and almost all scientists agree on this matter. Another reason is the that the government isn’t trustworthy in what they say about Climate Change, meaning what they say about Climate Change is wrong, and we should change our policy on Climate Change.
Now another natural cause of global warming is the rising of the seas. The biggest reason for sea level rising is that global warming is causing the air to be warmer and that 's causing glaciers and ice-caps to melt. Sea level rise would affect about 11 out of the 15 biggest cities in the world. The reason this is happening because gases are being released into the atmosphere which is causing the temperatures to rise, which causes the seas to rise. Sea level rising means more money that we have to spend for people living on the coastlines because coastal populations are growing and people are crowding into coastal areas and that area could be underwater in a few years if sea levels keep rising how they have been.
Professor Jack Hall, a paleoclimatologist, discovered drastic climate changes which he believed would affect the world population. He, therefore, voiced out about the problem during a press conference with the world’s leaders in New Delhi. Unfortunately, the American vice president, Raymond Becker, did not heed his advice until matters were out of control. "Our economy is every bit as fragile as the environment (Strieber, 2004)," the vice president says, dismissing Jack 's sensational claims. Due to the advancement of technology in the United States, there were several greenhouse gases responsible for global warming, and the citizens of United States contributed to the emission of these gases in many ways.
What is global warming? Global warming is defined as “ an increase in the earth 's average atmospheric temperature that causes corresponding changes in climate, and that may result from the greenhouse effect" (“Global warming”). Natural events and human that causes global warming are believed to be factors to increase in average temperatures. This essay looks into the growing problem of global warming and suggests reasonable solutions to it. It also evaluates the effectiveness of these solutions.
The Impacts of Climate Change on Species This paper seeks to research the study of climate change and its effects on biodiversity. This will be done by first understanding what climate change is and what the different effects are. Once this is understood, it will be easier to apply this knowledge to the study of biodiversity and how species are affected. Real life examples of different species that are affected will be mentioned and explained. Climate change is a reoccurring issue in our world that has been observed and studied extensively.
