Climate change is an overwhelming issue that humans can help avoid. Many people reject climate change and global warming as an issue, but others say that it isn 't directly from nature, and it is preventable from humans, if they make the effort to try to stop it from occurring. There has been a significant change in the climate within the last few years, which has caused worries from people and scientists themselves. Global warming may be preventable, if enough effort is put in to stop it. By early 2017, Earth had warmed up 2 degrees Fahrenheit since the year 1880, including the ocean surface. This may seem like a low number because the human does experience weather swings as a daily occurrence. Ultimately over the entire planet, the weather is only supposed to increase about a fraction of a degree, so this increase in temperature shows a problem occurring. Scientists believe in this …show more content…
The process takes carbon and throws it into the atmosphere as carbon dioxide. When it’s in this state, it can influence climate change. The energy sources with the best emissions include power plants burning natural gas. Switching to cleaner sources may be more expensive, but can ultimately fix climate damage and health problems caused by polluted air. The market is lowering the price on renewable energy which can be very good in the long run. There is also a set of drilling technologies called “hydraulic fracturing,” which helps us gain natural gas to burn instead of coal, which may reduce emissions as well, even though gas is also a fossil fuel. Deforestation can help avoid this problem of emissions, because trees contain a lot of carbon that we need. The less vegetation is destroyed, the more carbon there is for Earth, and providing carbon
A few months ago, strange, frigid weather was sweeping across the nation. Some places saw their first snowfall in eight years. Other cities ended up being colder than cities that were closer to the North Pole. Scientists believe that this is because of global warming. Some people don’t believe that this weird weather means that global warming is a serious thing: “Some question how it could be so cold if the planet is heating up.
According too many scientist even a small 1 degree increase of the average temperature leads to negative effects on our planet. As the conditions on the earth get warmer some regions will experience drought, and others heavy precipitation, the ice glaciers will melt creating a rise in oceans, damage the ecosystems, and the increase occurrence for extreme weather. Annotated Bibliography: How Climate Change Is Affecting Our Planet Controversy statement: Climate change is been debated for over centuries now. People all around the world are taking action and reducing burning fossils to minimize the gasses in the atmosphere. Many people believe that climate change doesn't exists. But there are a lot of controversial topics that proves that climate change is real. In my opinion, climate change is slowly killing us and destroying our planet.
In Newtok Alaska, the villages are built on frozen solid soil. With the climate changing the soil is thawing out and the ice is melting. Some villages have even begun to sink in into the ground. Now the villagers must relocate to higher ground and must rebuild on solid ground that won't be affected by the climate change. Humans are the main cause of global warming, but at the same time we are the only ones who can stop it.
Climate change is believed to be the biggest issue facing the Earth. It is a long-term change in the Earth’s temperatures and climate (“Climate Change”, Dictionary.com). Our atmosphere is part of the reason why we can live on Earth with reasonable temperatures. Humans have been emitting unnatural greenhouse gases, like coal, oil, and gas. This is changing the natural systems that take place in our atmosphere.
Climate change has been a problem in the world since the industrial revolution and has been denied by major corporations and the government for centuries. This is because most non-renewable resources are major industries (i.e. oil, electricity, water, etc.) and the world 's economy profits from these resources. The bulk of corporations prioritize their wealth over the condition of the Earth beneath them. Economic growth is important for the people, yes; it is how we develop as a society, but at what cost? The Earth takes the brunt of society 's success, and denying the inevitable will not stop it from occurring.
B. Thesis: The causes of global warming and climate change are because of increased emissions of greenhouse gases, and the effects of this are rising temperatures and more severe natural disasters. II. Body A. Counter Claim: Most scientist and people believe that humans are the cause of global warming because of the emissions that they put into the air, but there is a small percentage of people who think that global warming is not caused by emissions at all. This problem is controversial because some people believe that that global warming isn 't real and others believe it is. There is evidence that global warming is real because some scientist agree that the earth 's rising temperatures is due to all of the pollution. My opinion on it is that it is clearly real and we need to do something to stop it. If we do not stop all of the pollution in this world, it can affect everyone 's way of living in the future.
These gases retain heat on earth thus increasing the temperature above average. Different gases have dissimilar abilities to trap heat. Deforestation is also another important reason for global warming. Plants release oxygen and take in carbon, thus providing us a clean and healthy environment. But by deforesting the lands, the trees would emit the carbon stored in them from hundreds of years making the air impure.
Do humans cause global warming or is it natural? Many researchers, scientists, and environmentalists are expressing concerns about changes in the overall climate of the `earth. Some believe that a dramatically dangerous warming is taking place in the overall global climate, a problem that is referred to as "global warming”. What is global warming? Global warming is an increase in the average temperature at Earth's surface (“global warming”).
Climate Change is something that we have caused because of our choices to burn fossil fuels, at some point we have to face the problems that we have created. The consequences of Climate Change are horrific and Climate Change could end our existence as a species, most people do take action against Climate Change except, The Government of the United States of America, refuses to accept the serious dangers of climate change and continues releasing propaganda on Climate Change, claiming its effects are minimal and that we are not causing it. Peculiar how almost every other government in the world thinks otherwise. The reasons we are heading in the wrong direction is because the actions of humans are causing Climate Change, and almost all scientists agree on this matter. Another reason is the that the government isn’t trustworthy in what they say about Climate Change, meaning what they say about Climate Change is wrong, and we should change our policy on Climate Change.
Perhaps less obvious but no less ominous a threat to the environment are the general increase in temperatures worldwide and the resulting climate changes. This phenomenon, known as global warming, could have serious negative effects on humans and all other living things on Earth. Global warming is a complex problem, and governments have had great difficulty deciding how to address it. Some people think that it is the work of the world where nothing we do can ether change it or anything we do will prevent it. While others say that the
Throughout history Earth`s climate has changed a lot, and there is a lot of evidence that shows how humans have contributed to this changed and effected the Earth. Just in the last 650,000 years there have been seven cycles of glacial advances, the increase in the thickness and area of a glacier. As well as glacial retreats, a condition occurring when backward melting at the front of a glacier takes place at a rate exceeding forward motion. Most climate changes are attributed to very small variations in the earth`s orbit, that change the amount of solar energy our planet receives. The 21st century has seen the most temperature records broken in recorded history.
One of the greatest issues that we face towards the environment has been an increasingly difficult problem over the last few years. Earths climate is changing at rapid paces and solutions are needed as quickly as possible to replenish natural ecosystems and cultures that depend on the environment. Climate change not only affects the animals in our ecosystem, but us humans as well. With the human population increasing every year, climate change is only getting worse. Many argue that the effects of climate change towards the environment are due to other extraneous factors, however, I myself am a strong believer that the problems such as rising sea levels, warmer temperatures and natural disasters are all due to both natural causes and human activity.
What is global warming? Global warming is defined as “ an increase in the earth 's average atmospheric temperature that causes corresponding changes in climate, and that may result from the greenhouse effect" (“Global warming”). Natural events and human that causes global warming are believed to be factors to increase in average temperatures. This essay looks into the growing problem of global warming and suggests reasonable solutions to it. It also evaluates the effectiveness of these solutions.
