The University of Colorado Boulder has one of the greatest campuses and great programs perfect for each student attending. Its diverse community brings student to want to apply to this college. The reason why CU Boulder is a great school is all the people in it, they are all part of the CU Boulder family, the staff, its students all play a part in making the school a great option for new incoming students. That is what I saw when I went to visit the campus and researched. The family of CU Boulder was something I wanted to be a part of. I would be a great fit and could bring my different culture and hard work to this school. My only goal is being able to graduate with the knowledge for my future career. The school is extremely diverse and I would like to be a part of that. As a child I attended schools with no one that was the Mexican race like me. I want to add to the diversity of this school to be part of a big family, everyone from a different place and all learning from each other. There might be lots of Mexicans but we were not all raised by the same mother. I want to learn from others and be able to teach other students about how different my …show more content…
I as a student only find this to be always true. For a good grade one must work hard. To achieve a goal one must work even harder to get there. Everyone in this country has to work hard to get things that they want. Children mow lawns to get money, parents work to get food on the table, students study to get good grades. Working hard is a quality that I am proud of; I do not give up easily. I set my goals straight ahead and do not stray from that path. I know that CU Boulder is looking for academic excellence and working hard goes hand in hand. By working hard I can achieve academic excellence. I will work hard to reflect the fact that I belong in CU Boulder and only take my best into that school. Going to CU Boulder will only bring me closer to my goals in
Homeroom Reflection Junior year I have grown as a student this semester by watching the mala movie. This has helped me grow as a student because it showed me how just one voice can change so much in a community. From this experience I learned how Mala was an ordinary girl but who ones spoke up for what she believed was right for her community and the people all around her. After she started to change her community on a positive way for example, have more schools so students can have an education and making sure girls were able to attend school more often. Therefore, when she spoke up for what she thought was right and changed people 's life there was some who didn 't appreciate what she was doing so decided to shot her and ended up shooting her on her forehead.

Chicago is known throughout the United States as having one of the worst public school systems in the country. Although I attend a private school, each day that I sit in my English class, I have a clear view through the windows of the public school across the street, where other students my age who are equally as talented and intelligent as I am are in overcrowded classrooms without the resources and opportunities that I have. At Ignatius, I have had the chance to travel around the world and join exciting clubs. I have also been able to work with teachers who have the time to meet with me individually and be in an environment where everyone is genuinely excited to learn. Ignatius is surrounded by public housing buildings and run down schools and when I look through the window at the other school, it reminds me that others are not as lucky as I am.
The Campus Activity Board usually sponsors and puts together bingo on the last Thursday of every month. On the night of October 26th from eight o’clock to nine o’clock they had bingo in the cafeteria as usual, and the big prize that night was an apple watch. I have not won anything so far in bingo, and that night was no exception. I was, however, one of the first three people standing for blackout bingo when we were trying to win the grand prize, and that was pretty cool. I did not think that bingo would be such a big event here on campus

Creating long lasting friendships with people who have similar interest.
In the next few minutes I will show you the problems that educators and children, in the public school system, face because of the traditional, but out-dated calendar. I will then introduce you to some of the aspects of year-round school and show you how it is a better alternative than the current nine month calendar. There are, as I see it, 4 key issues that illustrate why the nine-month calendar is a problem. First, it is a 100-year-old system that was implemented to accommodate an agrarian society.
When I first graduated high school I thought I wanted to be a pilot to fly airplanes, so I signed up to attend classes at Kishwaukee College located in DeKalb. ECC helped me sing up for classes at an in district rate because Elgin could not offer the courses that I wanted to me. During the first semester I found out that I did not want to become a pilot anymore and that I would be happier if I changed and focused on computer science. The advisors helped me schedule classes back at ECC for computer science then next semester. During the last year and a half at ECC I have been able to start fulfilling my education goals by getting a good education and find out what I want to go to college for.
My winter break was spent traveling and bonding with my family. My brother and I attended my teens run practice every morning during winter break. During Christmas eve, my uncle took me down to Los Angeles to visit my family and tour the city. We spent one week there before coming back to Modesto for New years. On New Years eve I had a ten mile race which my father went to support me, after the race we spent quality time together.
I will use my time and resources to effectively and efficiently become the best I can become. I will excel past all of my peers and acquire the best education I can
From the moment we are born, we live in a world that is socially constructed. This constitutes the way we live, the friends we make, the types of jobs we have, etc. In essence, the social world decides our race and what we are viewed as in the world. How we are seen and how we see others affects numerous areas of our lives, which ultimately create diversity, oppression, prejudice and discrimination in our culture. We are socially constructed to see people through a lens of black, white, Asian, minority, or “other”.
