People often find themselves in circumstances or situations that they have to lie. Individuals deceive each other for several reasons such as because the truth may cause pain or deceive another into believing a false statement or even lie simply because what they do best is deception. Indeed, deception can occur in several ways. An obvious choice of deception is telling an outright lie, it can also be by circumventing the truth, or disguise the truth, overstate the truth, or even casting doubt at the truth (Hippel and Trivers, 2015). It appears that deception is a way of individuals avoiding unpleasant truths about themselves or in people’s interpersonal relationships. As indicated in the following texts, Raising in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry,

“Tell the truth.” Everyone has heard that countless times before. Since we were young we have been taught that telling anything but the honest truth is never acceptable; however, lying has appeared to play a massive part in society. It has effects in people’s daily lives such as teenagers taking a parent’s car and saying they went to the car wash when really it was taken for a joy ride, all the way back to ancient times where the Greeks lied about the Trojan horse being a gift when really it was just a cover for an attack. It is acceptable for lying to occur among today 's society due to its ability to preserve dignity, provide safety, and protect important relationships.

Lies, fibs, whatever they’re called, they’re considered wrong. But what if a lie was the only way to protect a loved one? Here’s an example:

Imagine being a Paralympian sprinter. You don't have both of your legs but who cares? You're a world class athlete! What you do inspires people. Despite what others think, the mechanics of running are not more challenging for you than they are for Usain Bolt. It's all just different. You are admired for succeeding with just one leg. But, others are told not to even try. That just isn't right.

Sitting on the edge of the stingray aquarium at Seaworld, dazing into the crystal clear water was a beautiful sight. The beaming of the heat on my back, and the humidity making my hair frizzy was overwhelming. I nervously hovered my hand over the water and poked my finger into the habitat. My ears then, caught the sound of the food machines clicking. The sound caught my brothers attention too. Tanner quickly got up and dashed to retrieve the stingray food. My eyes bulge out of my head. “Am I really going to feed the stingrays!” “Are they going to hurt me?” I thought. My hands get clammy as I start to wave my hand in front of my face to cool myself down. All this worrying made me realize I was scared.

Lies play a very large role in this play. As readers, we see what the effects of lying are and what it does to a person’s character. Different things can cause people to lie for different reasons. Even if something terrible happens, is it okay to lie to someone to make them feel better?

My 7-year-old self sat all alone in a cluttered, white room inside Cedar Heights Elementary, surrounded by shelves filled with board games and toys. While looking down at my chair and dangling my tiny feet, a woman walked into the room carrying a deck of cards with her.

Growing up in South Carolina it was very adventurous. A warm night on October 03 2000 in West Palm Beach, FL Griz was born. I was born in JFK Hospital. But as soon as I born I moved to Dale, SC. All throughout elementary and middle school, I was called Dequan. But when high school started I was called Griz. My pops is a Chef in Florida. After high school, he went to a collinear art school to be a chef. My mother is Nurse at the Bluffton dialysis. After high school, she went to college at the trident university to be a nurse. My mother and pops met and high school and until senior year. I am the oldest out of all my siblings, but I had a sibling that passed away when I was younger. I have 3 siblings. I have two brothers named Aj and tiger and

I really doubt we would do anything but mesh and compromise hardcore and amazingly. Sweet and Spicy, Ill take you Red Lobster or you can take me.. I don 't know what your favorite restaurant is. We really need some time alone. Ill mash the gas and you steer I doubt we would everrrr get tired of each otherrrr.

When is it ever okay to lie? Under what circumstances is it okay to lie? In some situations, I think it is okay to say “white lies”, but before lying to someone/something he/she needs to ask himself if it is worth the lie. C.E. Ayers, once said the famous quote “ A little inaccuracy saves a world of explanation.” In my opinion, the meaning behind his reasoning is that lying is a part of our everyday life. We are subjected to theses “white lies” in the books we read, commercials and television shows we watch, movies and sometimes even the news.

The reason i was named Kyle Hutton because Hutton is a Irish name. I was named Kyle because Kyle is also a Irish name. My family is somewhat Irish on both sides of the Family. That is why my name was Kyle. My great Grandma was a descendent from Ireland.

As a soon to be high school graduate and hopefull recipient of the Spring Hill Scholar Award, I am writing to show you a little more of who Peter Adam Ramsey is. Overall, I consider myself a very spiritual person, endeavoring to serve those around me just as Christ has done for me. I am a bit different than a run of the mill Christian. There is more to me than just another face in the crowd. I like to think that I am more than that. I like to think that I am a badger.

If you ask anyone, they will tell you that my family is obsessed with the beach. This is not true, we just really like to get our quarterly intake of Vitamin Sea. We normally go to the beach for Fall Break, Spring Break, and Summer Break. There are many different places we like to go, and have many wonderful stories from all of them. But, one of my favorite places is 30A.

I woke up this morning and I saw something bizarre outside my window. I saw a flamingo sitting in my yard. The funny thing is that I did not remember anything about last night. When I went downstairs to ask Dylan, Christian, Omar, and Raymond what happened they didn’t remember either.
