Provide Public Services
The Roman Republic was meeting the common good.
I gave the Roman Empire an A+ in this area. The reason I gave it an A+ was because of their way of meeting the people’s expectations for providing public services for their citizens to use. They built public bath houses for relaxation & to take people’s minds off of their problems, other ways to communicate in a nice way, or just use it for their own needs. The hardworking men built roads for trading, which boosted the economy. They also built the Colosseum for gladiator fights, which was entertainment for them way back when. There was a wall that was built to protect their city from

I gave the Roman Empire an A+. The reason I gave them an A+ was because they met their citizen’s expectations. The farmers would grow crops, & the citizens would pay their taxes. They would buy the crops, & the farmers would earn money. They traded & flourished, then from that, they became big & successful. This is where the metaphor “All roads lead to Rome” comes from. I don’t think they could’ve done anything else to improve their economy.

Prepare for a Common Defense
The Roman Republic was meeting the common good.
I gave the Roman Empire an A+. The reason I gave them an A+ was because they had sturdy armor/equipment, had well-trained soldiers, and very good weapons. The Romans will need to protect their city. To do that, they would need to have good, sturdy armor and new weapons. The Romans trained hard enough to be ready for their battle. With this, they have successfully conquered many civilizations after capturing many places. (Source: Teacher Paper) I think the Romans did a pretty good job protecting their city, so I don’t think I need to say how I could improve
The economy of Rome was failing because trade and business had begun to fade. As stated in document 1 “Commerce had largely disappeared owing to the lack of customers, to piracy on the seas, and to insecurity of the roads on land.” Due to the lack of customers and the dangers of the road and the sea, there
The great Western Roman Empire was considered to be one of the most powerful empires in human history. Rome became the most powerful state in the world by the first century BCE through a combination of military might, political acumen, and economic might. The empire was founded on blood of two brother’s who fought to the death to be crowned King, which lead to the first King of Rome who was named Romulus. By the third century BCE, all of Rome’s power and greatness began to diminish. Rome was falling.
The Romans were responsible for meeting the common good of the people of Rome, and I’ll grade them according to the five indicators of meeting the common good. I believe that the Roman Republic performed a good job when providing public services, and meeting the common good. The first reason why I believe the Roman Republic met the common good is, there were public baths that patricians and plebeians could all use. Baths were free, or very reasonably priced.
In Rome they had all their army’s outside their city’s and they didn’t protect their city’s. Another way they were similar was that they had or have the best technology of their time. One way we know that is because Rome could build these massive buildings and monuments. We know this in America because everyone these days has basically a computer in our pockets.
B- When it came to providing public services the Roman Republic earn an B-. The reason it earn an B- is because romans would kill each other. They also had a lot of bloody sports. In Rome the roman roads were built for the soldiers so they could march quickly from place to place. But sometimes soldiers would often worked on the roads when they are not fighting.
He meant he had a city with strong foundation and turned into a prospering, rich city of marble by increasing the value of Rome. Augustus increased the value when he restored peace, prosperity and confidence… (Craig et al, 179) Also, Craig explained how during last century of the Principate of Augustus, the climax of Roman culture, Greek influences inspired Roman writers and artists to display the spirit of Rome (181). Hammurabi, Alexander the Great and Augustus Caesar were excellent examples of great rulers thriving his nation but both Roman rulers had knowledge of warfare.
The Roman Empire, by far, was one of the most influential commonwealth in history. It became a magnet for wonderful culture and bountiful trade; even today we trace back to the Romans when it comes to basic academics and philosophy. Nevertheless with all the glory that the Roman Empire brought, there was bound to be downfall sooner or later. With all of the foreign invasions and migrating of other civilizations into the Empire, there was mass hysteria and struggle when it came to protecting the Romans. Additionally there were extreme issues in finding more military support, and not supporting the other parts of the Empire equally.
So Rome paid thousands of German soldiers to fight for them. Obviously this made Rome 's military weak because they would easily run from battle or betray Rome because they had nothing to protect in Rome. Another reason the Roman empire fell to shambles was because the Roman military stopped going on military conquests. When they did this the Roman economy collapsed because the economy relied on the constant income of plundered trophies from captured civilizations.
The Roman’s managed to use everything they had to create a city that was worth the effort and using everyone’s strengths. Because this was the way Romans worked,Intelligence was used as a plan. Intelligence was used as the biggest factor with physical strength going right after. Physical strength was a huge factor when it
Lasting 500 years with the republic and roughly a thousand and five hundred more with the Roman empire, the Roman Army was an extremely effective fighting force. Creating new tactics, some still used to this day, the ancient Romans were able to conquer most of Europe, northern sections of Africa and parts of the Middle East. With a complex chain of command, adaptability, formations and equipment, the Roman armies were the best for their time. In the beginning of the first Roman army, the Romans followed the Greek Phalanx formation, a rectangular formation made up of heavy infantry units.
The Roman government met the needs of the public services by providing many advanced, and secure items for the Roman citizens. The grade I gave was an A-. The reason why will be supported. First, the Roman Government provided a secure water system throughout the city. There were public baths for citizens to rinse off in.
In conclusion, while there were many factors that contributed to the decline of the Roman Republic, the breakdown of the traditional system of government and the rise of powerful individuals was the single most important factor. This trend undermined the checks and balances that had been established to prevent the concentration of power and led to increased corruption, social unrest, and military expansion. The lessons of the Roman Republic continue to be relevant today, as we strive to maintain a balance of power and prevent the rise of powerful individuals who seek to manipulate the system for their own
Living in such an enormous empire had its benefits. As a Roman, you had education, culture and the protection of the largest military empire on your side. Living in this Empire also had some notable drawbacks. The empire had extreme poverty rates, threats of being in a constant state of war, and the government could impose huge tax burdens on the people.
Rome was the most powerful and influential empire because of its military, government, and economy. Rome’s military was powerful and efficient due to its organization, discipline, and the weapon knowledge that all soldiers were taught. Roman government was influential with the creation of a new form of government that turned out to be very efficient. Also, Rome 's economy, however not very complex was a major factor in the expansion of the Roman Empire. Rome had a very powerful and influential military that was "the most effective and long-lived military institution known to history" and was feared greatly among its enemies.
In this way, they were able to play to the strengths of the Roman military in terms of
